Justin Harvell

It may be tough to tell, but under all that covering is two-time WSOP Circuit winner Justin Harvell. He is part of a big group of players who came to town for the 2020 WPO Main Event.

Harvell captured his first WSOP Circuit ring at our sister property in Coconut Creek in the $400 Monster Stack event for $38K. A month later, he picked up ring number two in Vegas also in the $400 Monster Stack.

The WPO Main Event hit 100 entries midway through the second level to leave it only 30 away from hitting the $200,000 guaranteed prize pool nice and early.

Trung Pham came to town a few days ago and made an eighth-place finish in Event 5 to warmup. The three-time WSOP Circuit winner has more than $1 million in career earnings including a win where he finished first out of 4,558 entries in a Hollywood Rock ‘N’ Roll Poker Open tournament.

Late risers continue to wake up and make their way to the Poker Room and the entry count is nearing triple digits.

Raminder Singh was an early entrant and he could have been excused if he showed up a little bit late. He made a nice run in the $600 WPO Event 6 game last night and took home his first Tampa guitar trophy along with nearly $18,000.

Singh is back in action and looking to earn another.

Level 1:  100/100

The preliminary tournaments are in the books and it’s time to get down to the business of the Winter Poker Open Main Event. If those early tournaments are any indication, it should be a fantastic weekend.

The $1,700 buy-in Main Event features a $200,000 guaranteed prize pool with three starting flights, the first set to go at 11am followed by the same on Friday and Saturday. It should easily top the guarantee and the question is how big it will get.

Players will start with 30,000 stacks out front and blind levels will last 40 minutes until they reach the final table. Late registration is available until 7pm following the dinner break with unlimited re-entries available during that time. Each flight is set to play through 14 full levels before they bag for the day.

We expect a big crowd, come out early and get your seat!
