Flight A of the opening event on the WSOP Circuit schedule is still cruising along on one side of the Event Center and we are ready to start the second. More than 300 entries are in the morning flight for a great start and it will continue to build in Flight B.

The $600 Double Stack NLH tournament has a big $500,000 guaranteed prize pool and at the current pace, it will be beat pretty early in the weekend.

Event 1 players start with 40,000 stacks and the first 24 levels last 30 minutes. Late registration and unlimited re-entries are available until 11:50 pm following the 30-minute dinner break. Flight B will come to an end after Level 24 or when the field reaches 10% of the starters. Those players will return on Sunday for Day 2.

  • Levels 1-24 last 30 minutes; Levels 25+ last 45 minutes

Steven Veneziano

The players returned to their seats after the break and they are chasing a new leader. Steven Veneziano sits atop the counts and it looks like he got a lot of his 179,800 from former leader/tablemate Aaron  Speer.

Flight A will play four more levels, take a 30-minute dinner break, and close registration when they come back.

Event 1 Flight A: Second Break

$600 Double Stack NLH (Re-Entry)
$500,000 Guaranteed | Structure
Level 8:  300/600 with a 600 ante
Flight A Entries:  289

Zach Mullennix

The second break is coming up and more familiar faces are joining the big opening flight. Among them we found Zach Mullennix taking his shot after some nice scores over the last 12 months.

He picked up his first WSOP Circuit ring last February in Coconut Creek, earned his second there in September, then won his first Hollywood major last month in the LHPO $1,100 Eight-Handed event.

Now he needs a Tampa to complete the Triple Crown.
