Tony March
Action folded to Russell Jaicks in the small blind and he raised to 7,500. Tony March moved all in for 71,500 from the big blind and Jaicks put his thinking hat on.
“I don’t mind losing to you,” Jaicks said before calling.
Jaicks: March:
“Oh no,” March said. “You know what’s coming.”
“Oh Tony I’m sorry,” Jaicks said as the board ran out to crack March’s kings with a nine-high straight.

Two-Tabling Tony March
Of the four new entries today, only three made it through the early parts of the restart. Tony March doubled when he sent fellow new entrant Jared Shipley out on the very first hand. Jordan Joeckel and Victor Wasik also failed to run up their 40,000 stacks while returning short-stacked Tom Gralton hit the rail as well.

Event 5 is ready to restart for Day 2 and we’ll find out shortly exactly how many entered the tournament. The halted play on Day 1 after Level 12 and registration remained open overnight. It drew 55 entries yesterday with a few more needed to hit the $100,000 Guarantee on the $1,650 buy-in tournament.
Mario De La Puente is way out front but there’s a lot of talent in the 13 remaining players.
Once we know the identities of any new entrants, we will update the seat draw and have some payout information.

Day 1 of WPTDeepStacks Tampa Event 5 came to an end with 13 players remaining of the 55 who entered today. Registration is still open for the $1,650 buy-in tournament until the restart on Monday at 2 pm, so there’s plenty of time to get in the game for what might turn into an overlay on the $100,000 Guarantee.
Event 2 champion Mario De La Puente has a huge lead for the return with his 484,000 nearly 200K more than second place Woodrow Pass. We still have some talent in the field who will not give up including Karl Manouchakian, Joseph Orsino, and 2016 WPTDeepStacks Tampa Main Event champion Anthony Astarita.
Below you can find the current table and seat assignments. If more than five players enter before the restart, there will be a three-table redraw before cards go in the air. We will also publish the prize pool and payout information as soon as it is available on Monday afternoon.
Event 5 gets back underway at 2 pm and we will track them throughout until we have a champion.
