Daniel Bismuth

The first break has come and gone and we located our early frontrunner. There were a few stacks over 50,000 with Daniel Bismuth holding the biggest at 69,000. That’s a better start than the previous flights at this point and we should have to monster stacks by the end of the day.

There seems to be no slowing down at the registration desk with another burst of entries including the six players who recently won their seats via the 9 am satellite.

John Dolan

The Flight C field continued to build into the third level of the day and the tables were expanding. This morning/afternoon’s setup has tables in the back of the room and now they are spreading across to the main cash game side.

But there’s plenty of room if you want to get in on the action.

John Dolan was an early entrant and he brings quite the list of accomplishments to the table. He’s usually seen in our cash games but the former WSOP November Niner knows his way around a tournament. In addition to that big WSOP score in 2010, Dolan has six other cashes over $100,000 including $550K for a fourth-place finish in the 2014 Seminole Hard Rock Poker Open Championship.

Howard Mash

Florida poker had a great summer in Las Vegas with a lot of deep runs and some big wins. Earlier in the series, we had 2019 WSOP bracelet winners John Gorsuch ($1,500 Millionaire Maker) and Femi Fashakin (The Big 50) jump in the game and today we have Howard Mash.

He already had a couple of tournaments wins at our sister room in Coconut Creek but added a huge bump to his bankroll this summer. Mash cruised along in the WSOP Seniors Championship and was the last player standing in the 5,917-entry field to win his first WSOP bracelet while pushing his career earnings total over $1,000,000.

Main Event Day 1C: Last Flight, Last Chance

$1,100 Pinktober Main Event (Re-Entry)
$300,000 Guaranteed | Structure
Level 1: 100/100

Time is ticking and players will have to get moving if they want a piece of the big $300,000 guaranteed prize pool for the Pinktober Poker Open Main Event. The first two flights put a combined 223 entries into the tournament which means today we only need 90 to hit that mark.

On a Saturday, it should not take too long.

As with the first two flights, players will sit down to 30,000 starting stack and 40-minute levels up until Level 18. From that point forward, levels will last 60 minutes until stretching to 90 once hey hit the last three tables.

Late registration is available until the start of Level 10 after the one-hour dinner break and players may re-enter as often as needed during that time. The last flight of the Main Event will come to an end after Level 14 with all survivors bagging up for a Day 2 return tomorrow at 11 am.

Cards are up to go in the air and we will wait to see when they reach the Guarantee.

Jamie “Beard” Smith stormed ahead late in the day and bagged the biggest stack of the flight with 386,000. He’s still shy of Karl Manouchakian’s 433,000 Flight A stack but he’ll return among the leaders at the start of Day 2.

Others advancing include Bryce McVay, Jordan Joeckel, Mak Franklin, Mark “Bud” Wiser, and Lawrence Cowsar.

Level 14: 2,000/3,000 with a 3,000 ante
Flight B Players Remaining: 24 of 122

Level 14 is here and that means Flight B players have 40 minutes to run up their stack for Day 2. We have 24 players remaining and should get down near two tables by the time they wrap up for the evening.

In a bit of a shock, former chip leader Armando Figueroa ran into some bad luck and hit the rail short of bagging.
