Level 13: 1,500/2,500 with a 2,500 ante
Flight B Players Remaining: 29 of 122

Mak Franklin

There were problems finding monster stacks after dinner but three levels later and we have several during the break. The top belongs to Mak Franklin at the front of the room and he is castled up to 341,500 with two more levels to get bigger.

Armando Figueroa has 253,000 and Jordan Joeckel sits with 250,000 on the nose. The end-of-day chip lead is still there for anyone to take.

Level 12: 1,000/2,000 with a 2,000 ante
Flight B Players Remaining: 36 of 122

Armando Figueroa

Flight B is down to the last four tables and we still don’t have anyone running away with a chip lead. Yesterday we had several players at this point with more than 200,000 but the closest we found at the end of Level 12 was Armando Figueroa with 177,000.

The remaining players are about to take their final break and return for two more levels.

Main Event Day 1B: Jordan Joeckel and Mark Wiser Climbing

Level 12: 1,000/2,000 with a 2,000 ante
Flight B Players Remaining: 41 of 122

Mark “Bud” Wiser

The field is shrinking which means we have some stacks that are building. Two of them are sharing the same table.

Mark “Bud” Wiser spun up his post-dinner stack to 87,500 with a lot of it coming from former WPTDeepStacks Tampa Main Event champion Anthony Astarita in Wiser laid a cooler.

At the other end of the table, Jordan Joeckel is up to 143,500 and contending for the flight lead.

Main Event Day 1B: Lawrence Cowsar Leads

$1,100 Pinktober Main Event (Re-Entry)
$300,000 Guaranteed | Structure
Level 11: 1,000/1,500 with a 1,500 ante
Flight B Players Remaining: 52 of 122

Lawrence Cowsar

After walking the stacks during the dinner break, there were no massive stacks standing out but a lot over average. The biggest stack seems to belong to Lawrence Cowsar with his 155,000 putting him in good shape for a deep run.

Cowsar is still waiting for his first recorded tournament win but came close a few months ago. He made the final table of the Seminole Hard Rock Poker Open Hollywood $400 Six-Max tournament and finished second for a nice payday.

Level 9: 500/1,000 with a 1,000 ante
Flight B Entries: 118 (Total Entries: 219)

We have nine levels in the books and tournament staff are sending Flight B players on their one-hour dinner break. Plenty of options to fill their bellies and refresh their brains before returning to play out the evening.

We have 118 entries so far and we expect a few more to join before registration closes after dinner.

Main Event Day 1B: Brandon Lamora Out Front

Level 7: 300/600 with a 600 ante
Flight B Entries: 107 (Total Entries: 208)

Brandon Lamora

We took a walk among the tables during break and found only one player with a full barrel of 5K chips. It belonged to Brandon Lamora and his 137,800 was good enough for the second break lead with Mansoor Kader comfortable with 85,300 to his direct left.

Lamora already has one nice cash in this series. He was the last player standing in the 610-entry opening event to earn the trophy and $23,600 after a four-way deal.

The Flight B entry count hit 99 entries for the day to put the combined total at a friendly 200 so far. With nearly four hours remaining to late register or re-fire, we’re going to see a very nice number before we close it up.

More Tampa regulars hit the felt this afternoon including SHR Tampa top casher Wally Maddah, 2018 WPT Borgata Winter Poker Open Championship runner-up Justin Zaki, and always-good time Jeff Morzella.

Flight B is closing on 100 entries and we’re going to set our sights on 130 by the time registration closes at 6:30 pm. This should be the second biggest flight of the three with a big Saturday gang expected.

We have a few more familiar faces getting in the game after the first break including five-time Tampa trophy winner Woodrow Pass, Tampa Winter Poker Open winner Bryce McVay, and WSOP Millionaire Maker champ John Gorsuch.
