Stuart Henrique

We missed how it happened but wondered by Stuart Henrique’s table to see our Day 2 starting leader added to his stack. He built it up from 505,000 to begin the day to a whopping 745,000 after a level and a half of play.

Only seven tables remain in action and those 63 players are trying to make the next milestone, the money when 47 are still here.

Main Event: Wally Maddah Doubles Through Jamie Smith

Wally Maddah (left) and Jamie Smith (right)

Jamie “Beard” Smith opened to 10,000 from under the gun. It folded all the way around to Wally Maddah in the big blind, he moved all in for 77,000 and Smith quickly called.

Maddah: AcKs
Smith: QhQs

Maddah needed to catch to stay in the Main Event but the 7h6h3h flop did not look promising. Smith took away Maddah’s heart outs and Maddah began standing up before the dealer put out the Kc turn. Maddah faded the hearts and queens on the Tc river to double.

Wally Maddah – 161,500 (32 bb)
Jamie “Beard” Smith – 265,000 (53 bb)

Main Event: Peter Walsworth Climbing Early

Level 15: 2,000/4,000 with a 4,000 ante

Peter Walsworth

Peter Walsworth opened to 10,000 from middle position and Deon Sampson moved all in for 58,000 from the hijack. Every folded back around to Walsworth and he quickly called.

Walsworth: AsAd
Sampson: 8s8d

A tough spot for Sampson and he could not find a save as the board ran out Tc6h4d9c5d. Sampson was eliminated and Walsworth added to his big stack.

Peter Walsworth – 465,000 (116 bb)
Deon Sampson – Eliminated

Stuart Henrique returns with the Day 2 chip lead

Three starting flights combined to put 466 entries into the 2019 Pinktober Poker Open Main Event and the field is down to 78 players. They return to the Poker Room today to begin working down to a champion.

Karl Manouchakian bagged the biggest stack in Flight A, his lead held through Flight B, but Stuart Henrique passed him by late in Flight C to take the overall lead. Jamie “Beard” Smith (386,000), Tam Nguyen (375,000), and Anthony Dianaty (375,000) round out the top five.

The Main Event will play three more 40-minute levels before they increase to one hour. Not long after that, levels will jump to 90 minutes when the tournament reaches the last three tables.

It will be a long, tough road with a slow structure and more than $93,000 awaiting the winner.

Stuart Henrique

It looked like Karl Manouchakian was going to hold the Day 2 lead but Stuart Henrique stormed ahead late and put 505,000 away for Day 2. That tops Manouchakian’s 433,000 but they are both in the comfort zone.

Others advancing among the 43 from Flight C include David Tuthill, Justin Zaki, Anthony Dianaty, Emad Alabsi, Brandon Byars, and Doyle Scott Elliott.

We have 78 players set to return tomorrow for Day 2 at 11 am with 47 of them set to make some money.

We will post the full Day 2 chip counts and seating assignments as soon as they are available.

$300,000 Guaranteed | Structure
Level 14: 1,500/3,000 with a 3,000 ante

Tan Nguyen

Flight C has reached the final level of the evening and action slowed way down. There are still 54 players remaining and they are trying to hold onto their chips to make Day 2.

Tan Nguyen is the latest at the top of the counts and the first player over 300,000. He’s up to 303,000 and in contention for the Day 2 chip lead.

Main Event Day 1C: Emad Alabsi Leads After Last Break

$1,100 Pinktober Main Event (Re-Entry)
$300,000 Guaranteed | Structure
Level 13: 1,500/2,500 with a 2,500 ante
Flight C Players Remaining: 61 of 243

Emad Alabsi

The remaining players made it to the final break of the day with 61 remaining and two more levels to go. Anthony Dianaty still holds a nice stack with 229,000 but Emad Alabsi passed him by and leads the field holding 270,500.

We’re still waiting to see if any monster stacks emerge over the last two levels in an attempt to catch Karl Manouchakian for the overall lead.

Player number 177 was none other than WSOP and WPT Champion James Calderaro. The fun-loving grinder grabbed his seat this afternoon and already having a good time with his table.

“Caldo” earned his first major title in 2014 after he won the Seminole Lucky Hearts Poker Open Championship to put his name on the WPT Champions Cup. Three years later, he added WSOP bracelet champ to his résumé when he took down the 2017 WSOP $25,000 Pot Limit Omaha High Roller.

Daniel Bismuth

The first break has come and gone and we located our early frontrunner. There were a few stacks over 50,000 with Daniel Bismuth holding the biggest at 69,000. That’s a better start than the previous flights at this point and we should have to monster stacks by the end of the day.

There seems to be no slowing down at the registration desk with another burst of entries including the six players who recently won their seats via the 9 am satellite.

Main Event Day 1C: Still Building

Level 3: 100/200 with a 200 ante
Flight C Entries: 130 (Total Entries: 353)

John Dolan

The Flight C field continued to build into the third level of the day and the tables were expanding. This morning/afternoon’s setup has tables in the back of the room and now they are spreading across to the main cash game side.

But there’s plenty of room if you want to get in on the action.

John Dolan was an early entrant and he brings quite the list of accomplishments to the table. He’s usually seen in our cash games but the former WSOP November Niner knows his way around a tournament. In addition to that big WSOP score in 2010, Dolan has six other cashes over $100,000 including $550K for a fourth-place finish in the 2014 Seminole Hard Rock Poker Open Championship.

Main Event Day 1C: Another WSOP Champ

Howard Mash

Florida poker had a great summer in Las Vegas with a lot of deep runs and some big wins. Earlier in the series, we had 2019 WSOP bracelet winners John Gorsuch ($1,500 Millionaire Maker) and Femi Fashakin (The Big 50) jump in the game and today we have Howard Mash.

He already had a couple of tournaments wins at our sister room in Coconut Creek but added a huge bump to his bankroll this summer. Mash cruised along in the WSOP Seniors Championship and was the last player standing in the 5,917-entry field to win his first WSOP bracelet while pushing his career earnings total over $1,000,000.

A great start and it will get even bigger with late registration available until 6:30 pm.
