Michael Turton (left)

In a preflop raising war, Michael Turton four-bet shoved all in for 870,000 and Quyen Hoang thought for a minute before he called with his chip leading stack.

Turton: AcQh
Hoang: 7h7s

Turton needed to catch to double and missed the 6d4c2s flop. The 4d turn was no help but the river Qd binked his double.

Nathaniel: QcQh
Alabsi: TsTc

Nathaniel was in good shape for the knockout and hit a set on the KdQs2c flop. The Jc turn gave Alabsi an open-ended straight draw but he blanked the 6h river to exit in 14th place.

David Nathaniel Jr – 1,275,000 (51 bb)

Tuthill: AhQc
Joeckel: 9s9d

It was a race and Joeckel improved to a set on the 9h7c4h flop. The Th turn gave Tuthill the first part of the backdoor heart draw and it get there on the 8h river. After counting down the stacks, Tuthill doubled, Joeckel was left with only 50,000 and he was eliminated on the next hand.

David Tuthill – 980,000 (49 bb)

After another long stretch of patient play, some players began making moves. Jeremy Zides gave it a shot with a shove for 445,000 after a Tan Nguyen open. Nguyen called with a similar stack and a monster.

Nguyen: AsAh
Zides: AdKh

Zides ran his big slick into Nguyen’s aces and nothing on the Qh7c2h4cTh run out could help him. He covered Nguyen by 20,000 and was gone on the next hand.

Tan Nguyen – 890,000 (45 bb)
Jeremy Zides – Eliminated in 16th Place ($5,246)

Even with some short stacks in the mix, there will little action in the first 30 minutes following the dinner break. Russell Jaicks saw his stack drop low during that time and three bet shoved for ~340,000 after a Quyen Hoang open. The all-in was called and “Magic Jack” was in trouble.

Hoang: QsJd
Jaicks: 6d3c

Main Event: Edward Kofler, Dustin Geselius, and Carlos Guerrero Eliminated

Level 21: 10,000/15,000 with a 15,000 ante
Players Remaining: 18 of 466

Edward Kofler

Just when it looked like the slow down was going to last a long while, we had three quick eliminations to get the field down to two tables.

First up was Edward Kofler. He open-shoved from under the gun for 105,000 and Tan Nguyen called from the big blind.

Nguyen: AcTs
Kofler: As4s

Kofler was dominated and nothing on the Qd9s3h3c7s run out could save his Main Event.

Shortly after, Dustin Geselius was all in for ~255,000 and Quyen Hoang had him at risk from the small blind.

Hoang: 9h6h
Geselius: QsJh

Geselius was ahead but Hoang paired the As9s8c flop. He began getting out of his seat but sat back down when the dealer put out the Qh turn. The save was short lived as Hoang made two pair on the 6d river to send Geseluis out in 20th place.

At the other table, Carlos Guerrero completed the trifecta and hit the exit in 19th place to set up the last two tables.

19th: Carlos Guerrero – $4,518
20th: Dustin Geselius – $4,518
21st: Edward Kofler – $4,518

Russell Jaicks

It was three-ways to a QdJh7d flop and Anthony Dianaty bet 30,000 from the small blind. Russell Jaicks raised to 100,000 from the big to get a call from Stuart Henrique and fold from Dianaty.

Jaicks bet another 100,000 after the 7h turn, Henrique called, and Jaicks checked the Qc river. Henrique pulled out some 25K chips and bet 175,000. Jaicks thought for a minute, called the bet, and said “king high”.

He showed KcTh for queens and jacks with a king kicker. Henrique folded and our former leader continued to slide while Jaicks moved up top.

Russell Jaicks – 1,530,000 (102 bb)
Stuart Henrique – 425,000 (28 bb)

Derek Bowers opened under the gun for a full barrel of 5K chips, his 100,000 raise leaving only 35,000 behind. It folded to Rodney Turvin in middle position and he popped it for a min-raise to 200,000 to get folds from the rest of the table. Bowers tossed his remaining 35,000 and needed help.

Turvin: 9s9h
Bowers: Ah8h

The Jc8d2s flop was of little help to Bowers but the 9d turn was definitely not his friend. He was drawing dead to the Qs river to exit in 30th place.

Rodney Turvin – 880,000 (59 bb)

Stuart Henrique’s stack is the first over 1,000,000

The rich get richer.

Chip leader Stuart Henrique opened to 13,000 and picked up a call from the hijack. His cutoff opponent raised to 50,000 and only Henrique called to see the AcJc2d flop. His opponent put his last 170,000 in the middle and Henrique put him at risk.

Henrique: As2s
Cutoff: 8c8h

Henrique was ahead with aces up but the 8d turn put his opponent in the lead for the double. Then the Ad spiked on the river to give Henrique aces full of deuces, half the table jumped out of their seats, and Henrique knocked another player out while moving his stack over a million.

Stuart Henrique – 1,033,000 (207 bb)
