John Dolan

One of the recent eliminations was Tampa pro John Dolan. He got 21,000 in from late position with As3s and was called by his opponent’s Ad4d. A chop was possible, but the opponent tripped up his fours and sent Dolan home.

2018 WPO, Event 4

Tampa’s Tom Nguyen is doing it again doubling up early in a big, re-entry field. With a handful of wins at the property and a number of five-figure cashes, Nguyen is no stranger to deep runs here in the poker room. There’s a ways to go in Flight A, but he’s in position early on to find a bag and earn a day off before Wednesday’s Day 2.

Registration and re-entry area available until about 4pm and we’ll take a look at how the event stacks up at that time.

Bob Gallo

Bob Gallo isn’t a past champion of this event, per se. However, he did win the exact same tournament June 2017’s WPTDeepStacks event. Back then, Gallo took it all the way to heads-up play before finding an even chop with Collin Wilson. The pair each took better than $29,000, but as chip leader it was Gallo that got the guitar trophy.

Gallo cashed in yesterday’s $570, too, finishing 18th for $4,366. Having made his way through better than 95% of the field, Gallo is back in action here in Flight A of the $350 and looks for another deep run.

$350/$100K: Rafael Reis in the Monday Game

$350 Deep Stack NLH Re-Entry
$100,000 Guaranteed
| Structure
Level 4: 200/300 with a 300 ante
Flight A Entries: 58

Rafael Reis

Rafael Reis is a standout in any Florida event he plays. It was two years ago now he captured a win in the Hollywood Rock ‘N’ Roll Poker Open $360 buy-in, $1,000,000 guaranteed re-entry opener.  Adding to the significance and stamping Reis’ name in the poker record books was the fact that event had 5,018 entries and went down as the largest tournament in state history. Reis earned better than $155,000 marking his largest career score at the time.

Reis has found a cash many times since then and hopes to add another to his resume here in the Winter Poker Open $350.

We’ll take a walk through the field shortly and look at some of the notables.
