With a stack of over 200,000, it appears Roberto Barba is the WPTDeepStacks Main Event chip leader late in Level 12. While the details of his journey to the top are unknown, it’s likely he scooped a good chunk of chips off his tablemate and previous chip leader Dustin Smith.

The preflop action is unclear, but the  result is unmistakable. Over at Table 7 there was some huge commotion as last year’s third-place finisher Justin Fawcett stood from the table busted.

Fawcett was in the small blind holding . Hung Le was in early position and also held pocket aces, the for him. Before the runout, Fawcett was heard jokingly asking if they could chop it up. Unfortunately, they couldn’t.

Le did the unthinkable improving an ace-high flush to bust Fawcett in dramatic fashion. The all-in bet was counted down to 61,700 and all of it was shipped the way of Le.

He’s continuing his chip-stacking ways here in the Main Event and sits on about 123,000 midway through Level 9.
