Players Remaining: 36/126

Le: As4s

Snell was ahead in the hand, but the stacks were close. It was unclear which player was at risk.

The flop fell KsJd8d improving Snell to a set and giving him a stranglehold in the hand. The turn came the 7s. While Snell retained his lead, Le had outs to the flush. As it sometimes does, fifth street with a furry when it reared the 2s improving Le to an ace-high flush. Both players jumped from the table, Le a bit more emphatically than Snell.

The dealer began to count down Le’s stack, but stopped in his tracks when he hit the 25,100 threshold.

“He’s got him,” the dealer said awarding the pot to Le.

Snell was eliminated from Flight A of the WPTDeepStacks-Tampe $350 while Le was able to hang around to try to for another final table run.

Gaines check-called a river bet of 12,000 on a board of Jc9d4h3cJs.

“Good call,” Le said conceding the pot and exposing KsTc for a busted draw.

Gaines flipped over AsKh for ace-king high and took the medium-sized pot from the Event 1 final tablist.

Play is back underway following the first 15-minute break of the day and it appears Victor Hernandez sits atop the counts thus far in the $350 event. Hernandez, who hails from Tampa and is a regular in the room, amassed a stack of 69,000 more than tripling his 20,000 starting chips.

That stack puts him at 230 big blinds but there’s a long way to go as 10 more levels are scheduled for the remainder of the day.

Familiar faces are starting to trickle in as Event 3 stretches into the middle levels of play here at the Seminole Hard Rock. Wert’s win came at the hands a 546-entry field in a $150 Big Stack tournament. For his efforts, he went home with $7,752.

Pellegrini’s moment in the spotlight came on the exact same day as Wert’s as he claimed victory in a one-day, $250 pot-limit Omaha tournament that ran alongside the $150 Big Stack. Pellegrini bested 103 entries in that event earning $3,729.

Both players are back at it in Tampa in search of another victory here in Event 3 of the WPTDeepStacks series.

A pair of final tablists in yesterday’s events — Tom Nguyen (Event 1) and Bruce Snell, Sr. (Event 2) — are right back at today here at the Seminole Hard Rock. Both players bubbled their respective tournament’s chops, so to speak.

First, Nguyen busted 7th in Event 1 for $12,739 only to see the final six agree to an even chop worth $36,620. Snell, meanwhile, exited the $250 Turbo 5th for $1,988 while the final four negotiated a chop that saw Paul Neessen earn $6,001 as well as a $1,100 Main Event seat.

Both players were undeterred by their close calls and they’re right back on the horse in Event 3. With their deep runs, they earned valuable points toward the WPTDeepStacks Series Champion race and are in the thick of it with three points-eligible tournaments still undecided.
