Event 3: Karl Manouchakian Wins $24,140 Following Second Final Table Appearance

2016 WPTDeepStacks-Tampa
Seminole Hard Rock Hotel and Casino
Tampa, Fla.
Event #3
$350 Deep Stack No Limit Hold’em
Entries: 495
Prize Pool: $147,400
June 13-15, 2016

Karl-Manouchakian-Winner-1

Manouchakian makes his second final table appearance of the series count, scores victory and $24,140 payday.

Karl Manouchakian is making a name for himself early in the Seminole Hard Rock Tampa WPTDeepStacks series. Manouchakian, a resident of Tampa, began hot taking part in a six-way chop in the opening $570 event. With that $36,620 score behind him, he entered the very next prelim — Event 3, a $350 Deep Stack tournament. The event drew a stout field of 495 entries and played out over the course of three days concluding during the early morning hours of Thursday.

Manouchakian began Day 2 with a modest, 99,000-chip stack. He spun it up and eventually took things into his own hands when he burst the money bubble in style rivering quads. From there, he maneuvered his way to the final table with a medium-sized stack and took control as the blinds and antes continued to climb. As in Event 1, the final few players found a chop, this time using ICM. Manouchakian scored $24,140, the Seminole Hard Rock Tampa guitar trophy and a $1,100 seat in the Main Event.

Manouchakian is 40 years old and was born in Lebanon before coming to the United States. Impressively, his Event 3 win moves him over $60,000 in earnings over the last four days of the WPTDeepStacks-Tampa series alone. With another massive, 495-entry field, the top spot in Event 3 was hard to find. Manouchakian bested an in-the-money crew that included start-of-Day-2 chip leader Victor Hernandez (40th), Seminole Hard Rock Poker Tampa ambassador Wally Maddah (39th) and Dominick Minaya (13th). In the end, Manouchakian chopped with Hank Zheng (2nd, $21,159), David Albertson (3rd, $19,400) and Josias Santos (4th, $18,643).

He didn’t need it, but the win gave Manuochakian a head of steam going into Thursday’s $1,100 buy-in Main Event. The series finale boasts three starting flights, a $300,000 guarantee and a live streamed final table.
