Tournament staff just announced they’ll log two more hands before Flight B wraps. At present, it’s Farid Jattin that’s in command with a stack of more than 400,000. His tablemate, Brett Bader, also has healthy holdings and will go home toward the top of the counts. The clock shows 42 players remaining, but that will likely tick down a few.

Tampa’s Tom Nguyen’s roller-coaster day continued as he and Joey Wideman played a massive pot. As recounted to us by the table, the board was . Wideman owned about 100,000 chips and he got them in the middle and Nguyen called.
Nguyen: for tens full of queens Wideman: for tens full of eights
Wideman was no good and hit the rail courtesy of Nguyen. The massive hand saw Nguyen stack about 430,000 chips.
Just a couple hands later, Nguyen picked up and had an opponent’s 90,000 chips at risk preflop. The opponent held and Nguyen was in great shape to reach uncharted territory. The flop was unkind, though, as it fell ace high and Nguyen sent a double up next door.

With a late-position raise already in the middle, Brett Bader was in the small blind and three-bet to 15,800. It was back on the original raiser and he four-bet to 41,000. Bader was up again and he reached into his stack for an all-in bet having the opponent well covered. Were he to get a call and win the pot, Bader would have been the chip leader. The opponent folded after a bit in the tank and Bader took the pot.
With the hand, Bader owned about 280,000 and contended with Farid Jattin for the chip lead — who just so happened to be sitting to Bader’s direct right.

Fresh off a cash in the Bellagio’s WPT Five Diamond, Farid Jattin is a big chip leader here in the Winter Poker Open Main Event. Jattin has turned his 30,000 starting chips in to better than 370,000 and has a stranglehold on the Flight B field. If the flight were to end right now, he’d bag second in chips overall (just behind Flight A’s Juan Martinez). With two more levels to play, Jattin is a favorite to overtake the chip lead through Flight B.
The final break wrapped moments ago and the clock shows 57 players remaining. They’ll log two more levels before the Flight B action concludes.
