Paul Wolfe is the latest victim at the hands of chip leader Bobby Sahgal.

The critical hand comes with the board showing 2♥ 3♣ 5♥ 4♠ 9♥ and Wolfe facing a 60k (43k behind) into a 90k pot. After 90 seconds in the tank, Wolfe makes the call and mucks when Sahgal turns over A♥ J♥ for the nuts.

A few hands later Wolfe doesn’t connect with suited baby cards against Sahgal who gets the last of his chips with a couple of Jacks.

Wolfe finishes in 7th place for $639, while Sahgal has more than half the chips in play 6-handed.

There’s been no big chip swings this level, but the table is buzzing when Paul Wolfe folds a set of Jacks on an A-5-2-J board. Daniel Tirrell is stunned that he doesn’t stack Wolfe as he turns over two Aces for top set.

“You’re going to win the tournament because of that right there,” says Tirrell, “I thought I had you.”

Both players are plenty deep, but well behind Bobby Sahgal who is the chip leader with more than 300k (125k).

After losing a hand to Paule Wolfe that left Dominick Minaya with just 6,800, Minaya is all in against Bobby Sahgal and Daniel Tirrell.

On a board of K-J-7-K, Sahgal bets into the dry side pot and Tirrell folds. Sahgal shows he has a King and when the last King hits the river, Sahgal gets the knockout with quad Kings.

Minaya finishes in 8th place, earning $523.

Alex Quinones starts the hand with ~100k and sees a flop of K♣ 6♣ 2♣ with chip leader Bobby Sahgal.  Quinones bets 5k and Sahgal calls.

Quinones bets 15k, Sahgal pots to 89k and Quinones is all in when he makes the call.

“Show me the Ace,” says Quinones, which Sahgal promptly does by tabling A♣ 2♣ for the nut flush.

Quinones shows Q♣ J♣, the second nut flush and is drawing to a one-out, straight flush draw. But when the wrong T is on the river Quinones is on the rail as the first player to cash in the WPT Regional Winter Tampa Bay Open.

Quinones is out in 9th place for $436, while Sahgal is up over 300k and has more than 1/3 of the chips in play.

Dan Havill is one of the short stacks at the final table and doesn’t survive his second all in after the first one goes uncalled.

Havill’s Q-Q-J-2 is no match against the K-K-J-T of Paul Wolfe.  Haville goes out on the bubble in 10th place, sending the other 9 players are into the money.

Havill doesn’t go home empty handed as he takes home the memories and is happy to find a little something to put in his pocket.

The remaining players are guaranteed a min cash of $436 and they’re playing for the first prize of $4,939 AND a $1,650 voucher into the Championship Event (Dec. 13-15).
