The flop brought a Jack for Ryan, but he got no more help and was eliminated in 6th place ($5,179).  He was dead last of the 41 players returning today, so he made quite a run, coming up just two spots short of the 4th place finish he predicted earlier today.  He still plans to win the Main Event next week.

Jim Rumptz is the first player to cross the 1 million chip mark and now holds the chip lead.

Tom Nguyen raised and Barbara Cardin called.  On the flop of K 9 2, Barbara shoved and Tom called.  Barbara had 97 for a pair of 9s.  Tom was ahead with KJ for a pair of Kings.

The last two were blanks and Tom chipped up to over 800k.

Barabara Cardin busted out in 7th place, earning $3,972.

Event 4: Cards Getting in the Air

Cards are in the air for the $210 No Limit Hold’em Deep Stack Turbo event and there are currently 19 players registered. Each player will receive 25,000 in tournament chips and the levels will last 15 minutes each.

Players will be able to late register and re-enter into the event until the start of level 5. Blinds are starting at 50/100.

Jim Rumptz doubled through Jack Rovello with AJ against Jack’s pocket 8s.  The flop came Q 9 8 giving Jack a set, but then the turn was a Ten, giving Jim a straight.

“Pair the board!” Jack yelled, but the river was a 5.   Jim doubled up to ~600k and Jack was left with only about 190k.

He was all-in soon after holding A9 against the AJ of Ralph Dyer.  Ralph’s bigger Ace held up and he chipped up to ~700k.

Jack Rovello busted in 8th place, earning $2,888.

Jim Rumptz opened for 60k and Ron Puleo called from the small blind.  Tim Pettus came along from the big blind and the flop fell K 9 9.  Ron bet 30k, Tim folded and Jim called.

Turn was a 3 and Ron checked.  Jim bet 70k and Ron called.  River was a Queen and both checked.  Ron showed KJ suited for Kings-up and Jim mucked.  Ron chipped up to about 700k while Jim dropped to ~300k.

Ron opened for 60k on the button and Tim shoved for 90k from the small blind.  Ron called, showing AQ suited.  Tim’s AJ offsuit was in bad shape.  Board bricked out 9 3 2 8 4 and Ron claimed another pot, chipping up to ~900k.

Tim Pettus busted out in 9th place, earning $2,764.

Tim Pettus shoved his short-stack utg and got a call from Jim Rumptz in the big blind.  Tim’s T7 off was trailing Jim’s K8 off.  Then the board ran out T T 2 Q Q, giving Tim a full boat.  He doubled up to ~145k.  Jim dropped to about 475k.

A couple more hands and the level ran out.  Players are off on a 40-minute dinner break.  Play will resume at about 6:30pm.

Ryan Sponaugle opened for 50k and got called by Ron Puleo and Konstantinos Pantaridis (bb).  On the flop of 9c5s4s and three checked.

Turn was the Kh.  Konstantinos checked, Ryan bet 80k, and Ron jammed for about 295k straight.  Both opponents folded and Ron chipped up to about 575k.  Ryan dropped to 348k.

Konstantinos opened for 75k on the button and Ralph Dyer shoved from the big blind for 194k total.  Konstantinos called, showing pocket 8s.  Ralph was racing with A9 off.  The board ran out K 7 3 9 Q and Ralph doubled up to 427k.  Konstantinos dropped to ~550k.
