Jacob Naumann (St. Petersburg, FL) is no stranger to Seminole Hard Rock Poker.

Naumann had back-to-back final tables at the 2013 Seminole Hard Rock Showdown, Hollywood, which included his first career win for $5,000. Tonight he’s off to another good start and is now the chip leader with ~80k.

After Naumann 3-bets to 2,600, he gets one caller and sees original raiser Manny Minaya (Tampa, FL) move all in for ~20k. Naumann tank-calls and after the third player folds is in great shape.

Naumann: AdKs
Minaya: AhQc

The board runs clean for Naumann and sends Minaya to the rail.

“It’s not that good of a call,” said Naumann, who had ~50k to start the hand, “but it’s a rebuy, I’m not folding Ace-King there.”

Minaya, who has $1.3 million in career earnings, takes advantage of the structure and quickly jumps back into the field.

Minaya was part of a chop here in December’s opening event of the Winter Poker Open, good for $11,000. His son Dominick won the event.

Going deep into the archives we found this Tweet as Naumann looks to add to his trophy case:

$350 Deep Stack No Limit Hold’em (Re-Entry)

End of Level 14:  Blinds 1,400/3,000/400 ante

Robert RosettaFlight A Chip Leader Robert Rosetta with 264,000

One huge hand lasted after all the other tables were done.  The flop read KdJh3h and Richard Hope (sb) checked.  Garrett Topping (bb) fired 20k.  Adam Agosto called, then Richard jammed for 97,300 straight.

Garrett tanked for a few minutes, then folded.  Adam gave it some thought, then called.

Richard had QsQd and was ahead of Adam’s 9h2h (no pair, just a flush draw).

The last two peeled off 9d4d giving Adam one useless pair.  He was busted.  (Garrett says he folded the winner.)

Richard chipped up to 261,800 and after folding the last two hands of the night, he bagged 261,000.

The chip leader, however, is Robert Rosetta of Tampa, FL .  He bagged 264,000, just 3k more than Richard Hope.  Robert will receive an $1,100 seat in Event 9, which takes place on Sunday, June 8th at 2pm.

There were 40 players left out of the 176 entries in this flight.  They will return at 1pm Sunday for day 2.

Average stack at the end of this flight was 110k.

Flight 1A: Bagging & Tagging
Flight 1B: Underway

While players in the 11 am flight are bagging and tagging looking for the end of day big stack, the 7 pm field is underway.

After 8 hours of play the Flight A chip leader is north of 250k, while Flight B is off and running with each player beginning with 25k stacks.

Half the tournament area is glad the grind is over, while the other half comes alive in pursuit of the $300,000 Guaranteed prize pool.

Event 1A: Hard Rock – Hard Play of the Day

$350 Deep Stack No Limit Hold’em (Re-Entry)

Level 14:  Blinds 1,400/3,000/400 ante

Adam AgostoOn a flop of 7d4s2c, the player in seat 1 was all-in for about 60k.  Adam Agosto was in the tank.

After a couple of minutes, Adam made a tough laydown, folding his AJ face up.  The player in seat 1 showed him AQ, meaning Adam’s fold was good.  He preserved his stack at about 160k heading into the last minutes of the night.
