Event 1A: Topping Toppled By Gertiser

$350 Deep Stack No Limit Hold’em (Re-Entry)

Level 12:  Blinds 1,000/2,000/300 ante

Scott GertiserDuring the previous level, Scott Gertiser (Venice, FL) knocked Garrett Topping off the top of the chip leaderboard.

A short-stacked player was all-in and called by both Garrett and Scott, (pictured above) who was on his left.  The flop fell Kh7h3c and Garrett checked.  Scott fired 20k and after some thought, Garrett called.

Turn was the Td and again Garrett checked.  Scott shoved his last 31,300 in the middle.  After mulling it over for a half a minute, Garrett called and the hands were tabled:

Garrett: Ah5h for Ace-high with nut flush draw

Scott: KsQd for top pair and the lead

Short stack: 7d5s for a pair of 7s

The river brought the 4c and changed nothing.  The short stack was busted.  Garrett’s stack dropped to ~65k.  Scott chipped up to ~143k and became the new chip leader.
