Rosetta, 1B Chip Leader – 2nd Overall

Bobby Rosetta (Tampa via Philadelphia, PA) is the chip leader of the third and final flight with 199,600.

“I was never above the (overall) chip leader,” says Rosetta, who will take the second biggest chip stack into Day 2. “It was slow and steady and more of a grind,” he says, “No big hands.”

20 players bagged and tagged for the night, which sets the overall remaining number of players at 52.  Kirk Adams (St. Pete Beach, FL) returns as the chip leader with 206,100.

The field returns at noon Saturday, just 20 spots from the money. The top 32 get paid as they play for the $41,844 first prize.

“I feel pretty comfortable,” adds Rosetta, who works in IT and plays Hard Rock Tampa cash games mostly on weekends.

The third and final flight is winding down to the end of level 14 and with 10 minutes left on the night, the clock is paused. Each table will play 5 more hands and then bag and tag.

After three flights of No Limit Hold’em, the Winter Tampa Bay Open switches gear with PLO action.

Players start with 10k in chips and the levels are 30 minutes each.

Late Registration/Re-Entry is open until the conclusion of the first break of the night (~9:15 pm).

In addition to first place cash, the winner of this event receives $1,650 entry into the WPT Hard Rock Tampa Bay Winter Poker Open Championship (Dec. 13-15).

Dan Duda (Rockaway, NJ), once the clear chip leader, has come back to the pack and is now even with Bobby Rosetta (Tampa) and fighting for second place with both in the 126k range.

Dan Duda (Rockaway, NJ) has been on a tear since returning from break. He’s doubled his stack from 78k to more than 150k (150 bb) and is the clear chip leader.

While all he says is, “lucky,” another player prompts him to reveal his secret. “Eggs and I went for a run,” says Duda , who’s chip count is nearly twice as much as the next biggest stack.

Bobby Rosetta and a player known only as DJ, both from Tampa, are among a slew of player in the 75k-80k range, good for second overall. 49 players remain with an average stack of 40k (40 bb).
