Sam Medina isn’t one of the big stacks in the room, but it’s better than the alternative. During one of the last hands of Saturday’s Flight E, Medina got the last of his chips all in holding kings against his opponent’s aces. The flop and turn came dry for Medina, but a river king smacked Medina in the face improving him to a set, earning him the pot and keeping the dream alive.
Medina hopes to parlay his good fortune into an in-the-money berth here on Day 2 of Event 1.
