On the first hand back from break, Tim Shortell opened the button for a raise to 30,000. Next up was 2015 Winter Poker Open Main Event champion John-Christian Templeton in the small blind. He jammed for about 240,000. John Racener was in the big and promptly four-bet shoved sliding a stack of blue 25,000 chips in. Shortell called off 305,000 total and the hands were put face up.
Shortell had the best of it, but needed to fade Racener who had both players covered.
Shortell’s aces held and he nearly tripled through. Templeton, meanwhile, was eliminated in 36th place.
Tim Shortell – 884,000
John Racener – 570,000
John-Christian Templeton – Eliminated in 36th place ($4,932)
