Frederico Camara is poker’s latest champion following a victory in the Summer Little Slick Poker Series at the Seminole Hard Rock Hotel and Casino Tampa Sunday night. Camara, who is 34 years old and hails from Brazil, defeated 1,826 entries in the $150 buy-in event. The win marks his third reported tournament cash and sends him home with $39,797 as well as the token guitar trophy.
Over the course of six days and 11 starting flights, the event’s massive field generated a total prize pool of $219,120 smashing the $150,000 guarantee. The top 180 players finished in the money including June’s WPTDeepStacks-Tampa Player of the Series Karl Manouchakian (eighth, $5,368), Antuan Bunkley (31st, $811), Herbert Woodbery (60th, $504) and Tom Nguyen (91st, $340).
