Chad Kitchen (Tampa, FL)  took a chance late in the day and it paid dividends to earn him the Flight E chip lead.

“Sometimes you have to gamble,” said Kitchen who finished with 260k, “and the gamble paid off.”  

Kitchen rolled the dice for half his stack when his opponent was all in for 48k when Kitchen only had 3k invested from the big blind.

“He wanted to double-up or go home,” said Kitchen, “so I gambled.”

Kitchen’s was dominated by his opponent’s , but a Jack on the flop gave Kitchen the winner.

Kitchen’s 260k currently puts him third overall heading into Day 2. He’s behind Tim Clermont’s 393k and Julio Novo’s 299k with one flight to go.

“I’m coming to play,” said Kitchen of Sunday’s 12 pm restart, “it’s going to be a better day than today, look for me at the final table.”
