After a great run in Hollywood, Ross Fischer (Davie, FL) is here in Tampa for the Winter Poker Open.

Fischer finished in third place in the Rock and Roll Tournament Leaderboard, earning him a $3,500 entry into the WPT Lucky Hearts Poker Open Championship Event (Feb. 2015).

“Its validation for my career change,” says Fischer, who’s now focusing on playing the game.

“I fell in love with poker and I’m doing this full time to see if I can make it work,” says Fischer, who’s worked in marketing.

Fischer picked up his largest career cash in Hollywood when he earned $18,000 for a third place finish in a $150 event just two weeks ago.

Fischer says he’s a die hard Miami Heat fan and that he bought his season tickets “the day they signed Shaq,” which was ten years ago this season.
