Day 3 In the Books

Three titles were given out on the third day of the Seminole Hard Rock Tampa Spring Poker Open.

The final day of Event 1, the $560 No Limit Hold’em event got under way at 10 am. Jim Rumptz topped the remaining 41 players who returned for the final day and took home $34,911 and a seat to the main event.

Just a few hours after cards got in the air for Event 1, the $210 No Limit Hold’em seniors event got action kicked off at noon. There were 134 players who showed up to play the event, which generated a total prizepool of $23,450.

Eight players chopped at the final table, with each taking home $2,624. The three biggest stack got to draw a high card for who wins the seat to the main event and the claim to first place. Greg McNealy earned that honor by drawing the Jc.

McNealy is a retired firefighter, who spends almost all of his time traveling around the country playing poker tournaments and has amassed over $28,000 in career live tournament earnings.

The final event of the day got cards in the air at 7 pm. 55 players showed up to play the $210 No Limit Hold’em Deep Stack Turbo.

Woody Johnson took that event down by defeating Kyle Peck heads-up. Johnson refused to chop when the tournament was six-handed and ended up taking home $3,657 and a main event seat with his win.

On Monday, event 5 kicks off, a $155 No Limit Hold’em event with a $50,000 guarantee. There will be five flights for the tournament and on Monday, the first flight will get cards in the air at 11 am and the second flight will start at 7 pm.
