Our defending champion AJ Kelsall was in danger of misfiring a bullet but instead moved back up to a starting stack. We caught the action with Kelsall all-in for his last 8,500 against Konstantin Pantarid with the flop reading JcTh6c.

After a few moments of consideration, Pantarid called the bet with a flush draw Qc7c against Kelsall’s top two JhTs. He faded the 2s turn and Ah river to double up and taking it easy.

“You just cost Byron (Rodriguez) $1,650!” Kelsall joked.

He was speaking of nearby tournament supervisor Byron Rodriguez and a bustout would have put another buy-in into the Championship field.
