Flight C of Event 3 came to an end with 19 players advancing to Day 2. Tom Nguyen came storming from the middle of the back to the top over the last level and put 257,500 away for tomorrow. That’s good enough to lead the flight but still some distance from Fred Paradis with the overall lead.

Tournament staff are pulling the chip slips and we will post the full list of counts as soon as they are available.

Event 3 Flight D: Hitting Big Numbers

$570 Deepstack No Limit Hold’em (Re-Entry)
$100,000 Guaranteed
Structure
Level 1: 100/100

The final flight of Event 3 is set to go and hitting the $100,000 Guarantee is merely a formality at this point. Only four more players are needed to put the combined total of entries up to 200 even, enough to hit the mark. There are likely more than that registered already so they’ll be running it higher.

Players will start with 25,000 deep stacks and all Day 1 levels will last 30 minutes before switching to 40 on Day 2. Late registration and unlimited re-entries are available until the start of Level 9 at 10:30pm and their day will come to an end after Level 14. Those still with chips will bag them up for a Day 2 return on Wednesday.

With another break comes another chip leader. This time around it is Duong Dieu with 185,000 to pace the field. We’re still waiting to see if anyone can catch Fred Paradis massive 300K Day 2 bag from Flight A but no one has come close yet.

Randy Spain

The race is on.

Flight C is in the last level with registration open and Event 3 is only nine entries away from hitting the $100,000 Guarantee. Flight C has 20 minutes to get there or we’ll have to officially wait until 6pm for the prize pool to hit $100K.

Randy Spain is in Tampa trying to continue a nice hot streak on his third Seminole property. In January, he had a deep run in the WPTDeepStacks Hollywood Main Event and finished in 20th place. Spain followed that up with a move to Seminole Coconut Creek for their WSOP Circuit series. Another Main Event and another top finish, this time in 23rd. Next up will be the Tampa Poker Classic Main Event kicking off on Thursday.

Guillaume Starek

Time is running out for players to enter Flight C and it looks like we will have to wait until the start of Flight D to officially surpass the $100,000 Guarantee. The field only needs 14 to get there and Flight C might still get there. But if not, it will be topped before Flight D even gets underway.

While players are coming and going, Guillaume Starek is just stacking chips. He had 81,600 at the break but now he’s up to 118,000 near the midpoint of the day.
