Table 20 wasn’t an easy one to start but it got tougher and deeper when tournament staff broke another table.

Justin Zaki joined them and took a seat next to WPT Tampa champ Brian Altman. Zaki leads with 783,000 and Altman is up there with 656,000 for nearly 10% of the chips in those two seats.

Oleg Rutskin opened the action from middle position, Ken Fishman called next to act, and Doug Marro moved all in for 117,000 from the hijack. Rodney Turvin called all in for 111,000 from the small blind. Rutskin and Fishman folded and the cards were tabled.

It was a race for nearly identical stacks and Turvin faded the flop. Marro paired his queen on the turn and Turvin was eliminated after the river.

It was a great series for Turvin after finishing 15th of 1,462 in Event 2 and a third-place finish in the $1,100 tournament.

A handful of players dropped out in the first 10 minutes of the day and tournament staff broke the first table to leave only 72 in the game.

Mansoor Kader was the first out after a huge cooler on the first hand of the day, his kings going down to aces. Mark Wiser eliminated Adam Deisley when he picked up kings early and Romeo Mendoza knocked Offir Rodan out with versus .

At noon on the dot, tournament staff put cards back in the air for Day 2 of the 2022 Tampa Poker Classic Championship. We have 77 players returning, 55 will make some money, and there’s nearly $200K waiting for the winner.

Levels last an hour for the rest of the tournament until we reach heads-up for the title. Blinds are 3,000/6,000 with a 6,000 ante and the average stack is about 229,000 (38 bb).

The 2022 Tampa Poker Classic Championship made its way through two starting flights and now we begin the process of playing down to our champion. The $2,500 buy-in tournament drew 440 entries and 77 players return for Day 2 at noon.

Our players created a prize pool worth $990,000 and the last 55 players will make some money. A min-cash will earn someone a payout worth $3,990 but they have $198,150 awaiting the winner.

Justin Zaki bagged huge in Flight A and returns with the chip lead followed by Event 10 champ Stuart Taylor, Romeo Mendoza, Nashaat Antonious, and WPT Tampa champ Brian Altman rounding out the top five.

They are scheduled to play 10 one-hour levels today or reach a final table with nine remaining, whichever comes first. Those who survive will return on Monday at 2 pm to play for the title.

Cards go back in the air at noon and we’ll be here the entire way.

With the flop reading , Stuart Taylor was on the button when the small blind player moved all in for 81,000. Taylor called and the cards were tabled.
