Chris Carlson

Since the break, Chris Carlson has more than doubled his stack.  He’s up to over 800k.

When I inquired how he got those chips, he said “I stole ’em”.  Then he expanded, saying he flopped a couple of sets for big pots.

Thirteen tables remain with about 115 players.  Average stack is 207k.

Event 7: Poker Is All In The Family

$560 Deep Stack No Limit Hold’em

Level 15:  Blinds 1,500/3,000/400 ante

A pair of family members have made it to Day 2.  The Mother / Son combo of Antoinette Fiorenza and Vincent Fiorenza both survived their respective starting flights to advance.  Vincent was 11th in chips of the 255 players who made the cut while his mother Antoinette was 40th in chips.

I don’t think researchers have isolated the gene for poker ability, but it must run in this family!

Event 7: No Call For Monaco

$560 Deep Stack No Limit Hold’em

On a flop of Qs3s3h Michael Monaco (utg) shoved for 68,100, sending Jake Dollinger (cutoff) into the tank.

After a couple of minutes, Jake tossed his pocket Jacks into the muck, preserving his big stack.  Michael didn’t show.

Down to 21 tables with 189 players remaining.

Event 9: Underway

$1,100 No Limit Hold’em (Re-Entry)
$75,000 Guaranteed

Level 1: Blinds 25/50

Today’s second new main event has just gotten underway here in the tournament area outside Rise Kitchen & Bakery.

Players began with 12,000 chips and all levels are 50 minutes long.  Late registration and re-entry are available until the start of level 7 (about 7:45pm).

This is a two-day event, so they’ll play until 3am or the final table before bagging up their chips.  Day 2 is at 2pm Monday.

Event 7: Leader of the Pack

Level 13:  Blinds 1k/2k/300 ante

Rich Milroy
Rich Milroy

Rich Milroy comes into Day 2 as the overall chip leader and looks perfectly comfortable sitting behind all those chips.

As expected, there was an early flurry of bust-outs.  We’ve already lost about 15 players.

With 240 remaining and only 100 getting paid, there’s still a very long way to go.

Event 7: Day 2 Underway

$560 Deep Stack No Limit Hold’em

Level 13:  Blinds 1k/2k/300 ante

255 players made it to Day 2 with chips and they have returned to do battle.  Average stack is about 93,000.

Levels are now 50 minutes long for the duration of the tournament.

In addition to the prize money, the eventual winner will also receive a $3,500 entry in the Seminole Hard Rock Tampa Summer Poker Open Championship, which has a $1 Million Guarantee, and the signature Hard Rock guitar.
