Event 8: Deborah Farmer – 9th Place ($2,620)

Kevin Ragusa opened to 22,000 from the hijack and Deborah Farmer moved all in from the small blind for 122,000. Marsha Wolak reshipped from the big blind for 160,000 and Ragusa folded.

Wolak was ahead with the big blind jacks and Farmer needed to catch an ace or some interesting cards to double up. The board ran out 7s3s3cQh7d and Farmer could not improve to go out in ninth place.

This was the second straight $1,100 final table for Farmer and running hot heading to the last weekend of the series.

The 12 remaining players were sent on a 40-minute dinner break shortly after the bubble burst and they will return to play down to the final table then the eventual champ.

Frank Weigel took the lead when he eliminated Tirth Patel on the bubble and will return to 610,000 in his stack.

With 14 players remaining, Table 32 lost a player to put the field on the money bubble. But first Table 33 needed to finish their hand.

They had a flop out reading QsJd9s and Frank Weigel checked from the small blind. Tirth Patel bet 40,000 and Weigel checke-raised to 120,000. Patel thought for several minutes, a tough decision with only 180K total in his stack.

He called leaving 60,000 behind, the turn came Tc and Weigel dropped in a big stack. Patel would have to call at risk and he thought some more. After a few minutes, another player at the table called clock and Patel called before the count was done.

Weigel made a queen-high straight on the turn, Patel was left with only seven chop outs, none of which came on the 3d river to send him out on the bubble.
