When David Meagher bagged more than one million in Flight A and no one else was over 500K, it seemed a virtual lock he would be the Day 2 chip leader.

Dion Jagroo said “not so fast.” He ran smooth over the last half of the day and put 1,228,000 in his bag for tomorrow, good for the overall chip lead coming back.

We will post the complete table and seat draw along with payout information as soon as it is ready.

Championship Day 1C: Two Outers for Everyone; Tarun Gulanti Stacks Huge

$1,700 WPO Championship (Re-Entry)
Prize Pool: $637,500 | Structure
Level 10:  1,000/2,000 with a 2,000 ante
Day 1C Players Remaining:  80 of 218

Tarun Gulati is a blur of stacking chips

Shortly after the start of Level 10, there was a ruckus at Table 22. Then it erupted again, and a crowd formed, ignoring their table action to see what had happened.

Here’s what it was:

There was a three-way all-in involving Riley Price in early position, Tarun Gulati on the button, and a third player in the cutoff. Each had a pair and the board got more interesting with each street.

Riley: 9s9h
Cutoff: KcKh
Gulati: AsAc

Gulati was in great shape with his aces, but Price took the lead when he made a set of nines on the 9c8d3h flop. His joy was short-lived when the cutoff binked a two-out Ks on the turn for a set of kings (the first table exclamation).

Gulati then went from first to worst to first again when he returned the favor with his very own two-out Ah on the river (the final boom of voices).

A crazy hand that sent Price out and moved Gulati up to 235,500.

Championship Day 1C: Jennifer Frankenstein Continues to Lead; David Moses to Second

$1,700 WPO Championship (Re-Entry)
Prize Pool: $637,500 | Structure
Level 10:  1,000/2,000 with a 2,000 ante
Day 1C Entries:  218

David Moses

The third break ended, players return to action, and we closed the doors on the 2025 WPO Championship. Tournament staff are confirming the numbers and we will report them when the final tally is official.

Jennifer Frankenstein was leader at the second break and she’s the top stack in the room with 343,000. David Moses moved up to second with 250,000 with Paul Snead (234,500) and Diego Uez (206,000) giving chase.

Championship Day 1C: Last Level to Join

$1,700 WPO Championship (Re-Entry)
Prize Pool: $621,000 | Structure
Level 9:  800/1,600 with a 1,600 ante
Day 1C Entries:  207

Dion Jagroo

Level 9 got here and time is running out if you want to be part of the 2025 WPO Championship. They will play out the next 40 minutes, take a 15-minute break, and we will close registration when they return.

We found a few more friends in today’s field including Dion Jagroo, Filipp Khavin, Aaron Thivyanathan, Igor Tretyakov, Mitch Mitchell, Hyndi Khomutetsky, Michael Laake, Shane Melert, and Mansoor Kader.

Prize Pool: $580,500 | Structure
Level 7:  500/1,000 with a 1,000 ante
Day 1C Entries:  190

Jennifer Frankenstein

Cards are back in the air after the second break, and we have found our new leader. It was pretty easy to find Jennifer Frankenstein’s stack in the back of the room, she is way up to 293,100 and the clear leader.

Armando Figueroa is nearby and nearest her count with 232,100 and David Moses sits with 207,900.

Championship Day 1C: Another Break; Milestone Nears

Day 1C Entries:  180

We are building a very nice field this afternoon and the tournament is only a baker’s dozen away from doubling up the guarantee. It’s been a great weekend in the Poker Room and it continues today.

They will take another break in a few minutes then return for the last three flights with open registration.
