James Maita

Ryan Hogan opened to 30,000 from early position and Stephen Dees called on the button. James Maita three-bet to 130,000 from the big blind and only Hogan came along.

The flop was 7h6s3d and Maita moved all in for 385,000. Hogan took several minutes to think, reconfirmed the count, and called with the bigger stack.

Hogan: 9h8h
Maita: JcJs

Maita was ahead with his pair of jacks but needed to dodge Hogan’s open-ended straight draw/backdoor flush draw. The Tc turn gave Hogan a ten-high straight and Maita was drawing dead to the Ah river to exit in 28th place.
