Jeff Trudeau

Tampa regular Jeff Trudeau ate his Wheaties on dinner break and returned with a fury building castles. Trudeau, never one to shy away from getting his chips in the middle, has run hot in today’s play and is putting a hurt on the late stages of Day 1C play.

Midway through Level 11, he posses comfortably over 350,000 chips and tops the field.

Level 9 expires and it’s dinner time on Day 1C of the WPTDeepStacks Tampa Main Event. Play resumes shortly after 6:30pm local time and registration closes at that time.

Wally Maddah found the Day 1C rail, his last 13,000 chips going across the table holding AxQx versus an opponent’s pocket sixes. Maddah joins a number of players that have gone bust on this Saturday — including defending champion Quentin Jones — but he assured the media desk he’d be re-entering later.

Dinner break is less than 10 minutes away and is set to last one hour. The registration desk closes after play resumes — about 6:30pm — and the final field will be figured at that time.

Matthew Kerley’s reign at the top continues to start Level 7. The day’s second break concluded just moments ago and with the field the big stack was easy to spot.

Kerley’s mountain sits at just under 190,000 and he’s best in a tough Day 1C field that includes Wally Maddah, Jeff Trudeau, Tom Nguyen, Anthony Dianaty, Karl Manouchakian, Brian Reinert, Anthony Astarita and loads of other heroes.
