Event 7 Flight D: Hamouse Takes the Lead

$570 Deep Stack NL Hold’em (Re-Entry)
Level 14: 1,200/2,400 with a 400 ante
Flight D Players Remaining: 22 of 106

Ahmad Hamoush

There’s still very little hurry among the players on this Friday night and we still have three tables in action. A rarity after the run of the last few nights.

John Dolan, AJ Kelsall, Carlos Loving, and Seminole Hard Rock Tampa ambassador Wally Maddah are still around with a chance to advance. Jack McIntyre is no longer the leader after he sent most of his stack across the table to Ahmad Hamoush.

Event 7 Flight D: McIntyre Out Front

$570 Deep Stack NL Hold’em (Re-Entry)
Level 12: 800/1,600 with a 200 ante
Flight D Players Remaining: 31 of 106

Jack McIntyre

There continues to be little activity with only a few players hitting the rail in the last half hour. They are one elimination away from breaking a table and 20 minutes away from the last break.

Jack McIntyre looks like their late lead with 170,000 but there is still plenty of time to catch him.

Event 7 Flight D: Another Tough Table

$570 Deep Stack NL Hold’em (Re-Entry)
Level 11: 600/1,200 with a 200 ante
Flight D Players Remaining: 34 of 106

There’s quite a lineup in the middle of the room, one that’s very big even for a $570 buy-in tournament, with five of the players have more than $6.75 million in career earnings.

The big guns at the table are John Dolan, AJ Kelsall, Patrick Eskandar, Peter Walsworth, and Carlos Loving. On top of all that money, with only $1.7 of it coming courtesy of Dolan’s November Nine appearance, those five players have combined for six SHRP trophies and three WSOP Circuit rings. Carlos Loving is the low man on the cash list with ONLY $480,000 in earnings, two SHRP titles, and a WSOP Circuit ring.

That table will probably not break this evening, so good luck to the rest of the players.

Event 7 Flight D: Slow Grind

$570 Deep Stack NL Hold’em (Re-Entry)
Level 10: 500/1,000 with a 100 ante
Flight D Players Remaining: 44 of 106

Peter Walsworth

Unlike the previous three flights, the action hasn’t been quite as fast after registration closed. They played down quickly in the first three but we still have five tables going.

We’ve lost a few notables over the last two levels including AJ “Doc” Santos (pictured below) and Vitor Coelho, but we still have Seminole Hard Rock team member Michael Laake, Ryan Dunn, Peter Walsworth (pictured above), John Holley, and Seminole Hard Rock Tampa ambassador Wally Maddah.

Event 7 Flight D: Registration Closed

$570 Deep Stack NL Hold’em (Re-Entry)
Level 9: 400/800 with a 100 ante
Flight D Players Remaining: 62 of 106

Registration has closed on the fourth flight of the $200,000 Guarantee Event 7 and they put up a big number. Flight D drew 106 entries to bring the combined total up to 338. That leaves the field only 62 entries shy of hitting the guarantee and we should get there early tomorrow afternoon.

Event 7 Flight D: Tale of Two Champs

$570 Deep Stack NL Hold’em (Re-Entry)
Level 7: 250/500 with a 75 ante
Flight D Entries: 94

Michael Laake (left) and Vitor Coelho (right)

The tournament clock continues to click towards triple digit entries and we should get to 100 before registration closes at 10:30.

Two former SHRP champs are sitting side-by-side at the front of the room and won’t be moving anytime soon. Vitol Coelho won his sole SHRP trophy this past spring when he took down the 2,692-entry opening event of the WPT Seminole Hard Rock Poker Showdown.

Seminole Hard Rock team member Michael Laake has seven SHRP trophies from around the state. His last came during the same series as Coelho’s when he won the $1,100 Six-Max event. But on the Winter Poker Open side, Laake is our defending champion in this tournament when he was the last player standing among 633 other competitors.

Those two players are responsible for nearly $2 million in career earnings and will be two tough seats for the rest of the table to get through.

Event 7 Flight D: Holley Trying to Stay Hot

$570 Deep Stack NL Hold’em (Re-Entry)
Level 5: 150/300 with a 50 ante
Flight D Entries: 75

John Holley

Players are back in their seats after the first break of the day and the entry count continues to increase at a steady interval. We’re seeing more regular faces put up the buy-in and we should have a nice field by the time registration closes at 10:30pm.

John Holley jumped in before the break and ready to continue the heater he’s been running. He pulled the rare feat of cashing twice in the same day on Wednesday when he made the money in the $150/$50,000 Event 4 then turned around and final tabled the Pot Limit Omaha a few hours later. It was just another day for Holley and not his best single day either, he cashed three times in one day during the 2016 Coco Poker Open.

Going back into the past, but only two weeks, Holley cashed twice in the 2016 RRPO in Hollywood with one final table followed up by two WSOP Circuit event final tables before coming down to the warmer climes of Tampa.
