Hristos Tsironis was in the lead with about 180,000, but then Jin Chen overtook him.  A player was all-in with K5 against Jin’s pocket 9s.  The board ran out 5 4 4 2 9 and Jin took the pot, chipping up to about 210,000.

Another die-hard player in this flight is Wally Maddah, who came straight from the emergency room, after spending four hours there being treated for some type of insect bite that caused severe swelling in his hand and ankle.

Hector Vazquez
Hector Vazquez

On the very last hand of play, Hector Vazquez was all-in on the turn with the board showing 6 6 4 Q.  Harvey Vandeven had him covered and made the call.

Hector had Ah6h for trip sixes and he was way ahead of Harvey’s AdQc (two pair).

Then another Queen hit the river, giving Harvey a bigger boat with Queens-full, and sinking Hector’s sixes-full.  Hector finished 2nd in event 1 a few days ago.  He’s going to have to fire another bullet in this event if he wants to repeat.

That pot put Harvey’s stack at 306,000 and he’s the chip leader for Flight C.  Full chip counts coming shortly.

Randy Raji
Randy Raji

Shortly before the end of level 12, Randy Raji opened for 6k early, then the short-stack on his left shoved.  Michael Laake re-shoved from the middle with more chips.

Randy was happy to make the overcall, having both opponents covered, since he was holding pocket Aces.  The shortie had pocket 6s and Michael had AQ offsuit.

The board ran out K 3 3 7 T and changed nothing.  Randy’s weapons of mass destruction busted both opponents and in the process, propelled him into the chip lead with about 330,000.
