Event 3 Day 1B: Double Bubble Burst; Ivan Yatsuk Bags Lead

$400 No Limit Hold’em (Re-Entry)
$100,000 Guaranteed | Structure
Level 16:  3,000/6,000 with a 6,000 ante
Day 1B Players Remaining:  27 of 271

Ivan Yatsuk

Flight B went a little longer than Flight A and they made it into Level 16 before the money bubble burst. And when it did, it was not boring.

On Table 21, the cutoff player jammed with his short stack and the button called. Lawrence Cowsar in the small blind reshipped from the small blind for 166,000. The big blind player decided to come along for the ride and the button folded for a three-way all in.

Cowsar: AsAh
Small Blind: KcKd
Cutoff: AcJh

A huge blind v blind spot with Cowsar having both players covered. The board ran out 9h7s4d2hAd and Cowsar sent two players out on the bubble.

But wait, there’s more. Chris Perry was also all in on Table 11 facing elimination with JsJh against KhQc. It was a race to start but Perry found a favorite JcJd6h flop to make quads and lock up a bubble double in a hurry.

Ivan Yatsuk bagged the overall lead with 563,000 followed by Savahn Steadman with 508,000 and Antoinette Fiorezna’s 445,000. Flight A’s bubble Jim Collins had a strong bounceback and finished with 415,000.

We will post the entire list of chip counts as soon as they are available.

Jaime Acquafredda sits behind him in second place with 274,500 and both are in great shape for a deep run.

Flight B is down to eight tables which means we are starting to see some big stack emerge, none bigger than Ivan Yatsuk at the moment.

He is up to 320,000 in the middle of the day and well above the rest of the field. But there’s still plenty of work and he could be caught since only 28 of these players will advance to Day 2.

Players returned from the second break and we have a new chip leader. Dmitrijs Tarbejevs is now the big stack in the room and the Latvian is up to 163,400 as registration closed. Good enough for 136 big blinds at this level, not too bad.

Don’t feel too sad for former leader Ryan Hogan, he’s still up near the top with 126,000.

A quick walk through the tables on break found a familiar player with a big stack. Ryan Hogan is back today and already building big. He went on break with 87,100 then added more on the first hand back.

This time it was Karl Manouchakian open-shipped for 4,200 with Ac3c and Hogan called with AsQh. The board ran out Qc8s6s5sJs to give Hogan flopped top pair and a rivered overkill spade flush to send Manouchakian back to the registration desk.
