Players Remaining:  95 of 1,082

James Collins

Shortly after the first break, we heard a call for a payout at Table 10, and Conrad Flores stood up. He was among the leaders a few minutes earlier but stood in the payout line shortly after.

As told by the table, Flores took a shot with ace-queen against James Collins who paired a king with his ace-king. Collins is now up to 1,185,000 while Flores had an unfortunate early exit.

We took a walk among the tables while players were enjoying their first break, looking for big stacks and who’s having a nice early afternoon.

Ben Chelladurai returned for Day 2 with 361,000 and added nearly one million over two levels. He was the leader at break with 1,238,000, followed by Kara Margraf with 840,000 and Eran Golan with 798,000.

Players Remaining:  104 of 1,082

Tony March

On the last hand before break, Parm Mehmi opened to 17,000 from early position and picked up one caller. Tony March shipped from the big blind for 83,000 and only Mehmi came along to put March at risk.

March: 3c3h
Mehmi: 5c5s

March was in a lot of trouble with the smaller pair but found a save on the KcKs3d flop. He made a full house and Mehmi could not come from behind on the As turn or 7d river to send some chips across the table.

Tony March – 195,000 (33 bb)
Parm Mehmi – 222,000 (37 bb)

While players are crashing out of the tournament early in the day, those chips need to go somewhere, and Kara Margraf is one of those moving in a positive direction.

Already among the big stacks coming back for Day 2, unbagging third-best 725K, she is now closing on a million and sits with 945,000.

Event 1: Day 2 Set to Go

$400 No Limit Hold’em (Re-Entry)
$200,000 Guaranteed | Structure | Payouts
Level 14:  3,000/5,000 with a 5,000 ante
Players Remaining:  137 of 1,082

The first tournament on the 2024 Tampa Poker Classic schedule had a big turnout to kick off the series. The $400 buy-in tournament drew 1,082 entries over six flights, converting the $200,000 guarantee into a prize pool worth $357,060.

We have 137 players returning this morning at 11 am to begin the process of finding our champ. They come back to the action already in the money and guaranteed at least $580 but everyone wants the $59,500 waiting up top.

Arman Navazi took the overall lead late in the last flight and was the only player over 800K for the restart. Zak Fellow, Kara Margraf, Conrad Flores, and Eran Golan round out the top five but it’s still anyone’s game.

They will play one hand at 3,000/5,000 blinds (there are 12 seconds remaining in Level 14), and the blinds will increase to 40 minutes long at the start of Level 20.

Top ten returning stacks:

  1. Arman Navazi – 840,000 (168 bb)
  2. Zak Fellows – 793,000 (159 bb)
  3. Kara Margraf – 725,000 (145 bb)
  4. Conrad Flores – 632,000 (126 bb)
