They were racing and Khavin needed his eights to hold to double up. Dees took the lead when he paired his ace on the AcQh6s flop and Khavin was eliminated after the 5d turn and Qd river.

Paul Snead

Paul Snead opened to 40,000 from the cutoff and Dakota Diaz called in the big blind to see the Jh8s3s flop. Diaz checked, Snead continued for another 50,000 and Diaz moved all in with the bigger stack. Snead called and the hands were tabled.

Snead: Ks9c
Diaz: QsTs

Our two-time TPC Champion was 2-to-1 to win on the flop and 4-to-1 after the 2d turn. But Diaz binked a 9d river to make a queen-high straight and loudly celebrated.

“Suck out king!”

Snead fell short of his third Tampa Championship and they field was down to 24.

Paul Snead – Eliminated in 25th Place ($4,050)

Mike Ahmad

Mike Ahmad was short and took a shot with a big blind shove for about 130,000 and William Wolf had him at risk.

Wolf: KsQh

Ahmad was in good shape and Wolf was already counting out chips to send across the table. That changed on the KdJh7s flop when Wolf paired his king to take the lead. The board finished 7h and 5s and Ahmad was eliminated in 27th place.

William Wolf – 545,000 (36 bb)
