Flight C players were sent on what should be there last break with 38 players remaining and 22 set to book a seat for Day 2 on Sunday.

We had no clear cut leader two hours ago during the break but Thomas Kornechuk made a move. He sits alone, way at the top, with 432,000 and a handful over 200K for his closest competitors.

The opening event of the 2024 SPS series is on the cusp of its $250,000 guarantee and the $400 buy-in tournament will get really close tonight with Flight D starting at 6 pm. The tournament drew 501 entries over the first three flights to leave it only 257 away from the magic number.

It probably won’t hit tonight but we’ll see it get there tomorrow morning.

Players start with 30K in their stacks and the first 19 levels last 30 minutes before increasing to 40 for the rest of the tournament. Late registration and re-entries are available until the start of Level 9 at 10:30 pm.

Flight D will continue until 12.5% of the field remains and survivors will return for Day 2 on Sunday at 11 am in the money.

Flight C is flying right along with only 48 players remaining and still a lot of chips in play. They are putting those stacks to use and we’re looking at a money bubble around Level 14.

There’s still plenty of talent trying to make it through to Day 2 and we’ll see who can build a big bag.

Registration closed for Flight C of SPS Event 1 with another 175 entries putting the combined total at 501 for the tournament with four flights to go. Our players have contributed more than $165K to the prize pool and only 257 new entries are needed to surpass the $250,000 guarantee.

It won’t get there with Flight D at 6 pm but it will hit early tomorrow morning in Flight E.

Flight C will continue until 22 players remain and survivors will return Sunday at 11 am in the money for Day 2. Players must bag chips to cash in the tournament.
