Matthew Leecy

Table 21 was playing some huge pots and not many of them made it past the flop. Yazdi Mehta took the lead from Debbie Lee in a pot with 1,400,000 in the middle that went check/bet/fold after the flop.

Soon after, Mehta opened from early position and Matthew Leecy raised to 235,000 from the big blind. Mehta called, the flop was QhTd9h and both players checked. The turn was 7h, Leecy checked, Mehta announced all in, and Leecy called at risk for 1,085,000.

Leecy: AhAc
Mehta: AsJs

Leecy’s aces needed to dodge the open-ended straight draw of Mehta (minus the heart outs) and the 3c river was safe for a huge double up.

Matthew Leecy – 4,630,000 (154 bb)
Yazdi Mehta – 400,000 (13 bb)

Fred Paradis – Eliminated in 12th Place ($8,510)

Ryan Luker was unable to bounce back from two tough beats and went out in 13th place while Jebhar Patterson found a small double through Igor Trevyakov.

Jake Ferro

The flop was out and reading QcTc8c and Jake Ferro checked. Yazdi Mehta bet 75,000 and Ferro called to see the Jc turn. Ferro put his remaining 390,000 in the middle and Mehta had the WPT POY at risk.

Ferro: Th9s
Mehta: 9c7c

Ferro flopped a ten and turned a straight but Mehta was ahead with his club flush. The 4h river finished the board and Ferro was eliminated in 17th place.

$1,700 Pinktober Championship (Re-Entry)

Level 19:  10,000/15,000 with a 15,000 ante
Players Remaining:  20 of 358

Sanjib Acharya

Players were getting their chips in quick after the break and three tough players were already out before another big hand.

With the flop reading Jd9s5s, Shane Barnard found himself all in and at risk for 325,000 and Sanjib Acharya quickly called.

“Oh. I guess I’m behind,” Barnard said.

Acharya: AsJs
Barnard: JhTd

Both paired their jack but Acharya was way ahead with the ace kicker and spade redraw. Barnard had two outs twice and blanked the 6c turn and 5h river to go out in 21st.

Sanjib Acharya – 1,215,000 (81 bb)

21st: Shane Barnard – $4,260
22nd: Ken O’Donnell – $4,260

Chris Stanton

On the last hand before the break, Chris Stanton was in the big blind and all in for 247,000 against Ryan Luker and in bad shape.

Stanton: AcKh
Luker: KsKd

Stanton needed a lot of help and found it right on the AsAdKc flop. Both players flopped an unlikely full house but Stanton was best with aces full of kings. Luker was drawing dead and Stanton doubled up.

Chris Stanton – 515,000 (34 bb)
Ryan Luker – 260,000 (17 bb)

After the hand, tournament staff sent the field on break as they colored off the 1K chips and introduced the 100K variant. Yazdi Mehta continued to lead with 1,840,000 while the others were trying to reach a million.
