With the board out to the turn and reading , Steve Trizis had his 13,500 stack at risk holding for top pair and a gutshot Broadway draw.

But that wasn’t looking good when he found out he was up against . The middle set of queens looked good for his opponent until the four-out hit the river for his double up.

Action got back underway after the first break with another big number on the horizon. They are only two new buy-ins away from 600 for Flight D with registration open till 2:30 pm. Pretty safe bet it will hit that number.

The pace of new entries continued to cruise over the next level and the count is quickly approaching 500 for Flight D. It won’t break the $1,000,000 mark this afternoon but it will get there this evening in Flight F.

One of today’s entries belongs to Rafael Lima. He made the trek across the state from the east coast of Florida and riding a hot streak. He has five cashes in 2021 with four of them getting to a final table and three of them ending with a tournament win. Lima won the $1,700 Purple Chip Bounty event the WPT Poker Showdown in Hollywood and added another win two weeks ago during their Deep Stack Poker Series.

All of those cashes came in Hollywood, now he turns his sights on Tampa.

The $500 buy-in tournament has already put in nearly $600,000 towards the $1,000,000 guaranteed prize pool with four full flights to go, starting with Flight D at 10 am.

They’ll start out with 20,000 double stacks and all Day 1 levels last 30 minutes. Late registration is available until the start of Level 9 at 2:30 pm with a single re-entry available if eliminated.

The tournament is paying the top 12.5% of the field and Flight D will come to an end when only 7% of the field is still in the game, those players advancing to Day 2 on Sunday at 2 pm.
