Phelps: As2h
Khan: KdJs

Phelps was ahead for the knockout but Khan was live to double. The 9h8c6d flop changed nothing, the Jd turn put Khan into the lead, and he doubled after the Qs completed the board.

Level 17: 3,000/6,000 with a 6,000 ante

Mark “Bud” Wiser

It took some work to get there, but Event 7 hit the money after ten rounds of hand-for-hand action.

On that tenth hand, Mark Wiser was all in for 2,500 in the big blind (plus his 6,000 big blind ante). Mitchell King opened to 15,000 from the hijack and Dani Mae called on the button.

Both live players checked down the KdJs3d7cAh board and Mae showed KcQc for a pair of kings. King quickly mucked and Wiser showed 8h7h for second best pair of sevens before leaving his seat on the money bubble.

Dani Mae – 110,000 (22 bb)
Mark Wiser – Eliminated

Event 7: Hassan El Hakim Doubles Near the Bubble

$570 No Limit Hold’em (Re-Entry)
$100,000 Guaranteed | Structure | Payouts
Level 16: 2,500/5,000 with a 4,000 ante
Players Remaining: 30 of 279

Hassan El Hakim

With the flop reading AhTs4s, Hassan El-Hakim moved all in for 105,000 with the money bubble two spots away. Brent Pasquarella went into the tank for two minutes before he tossed in a calling chip.

El Hakim: AsKs
Pasquarella: JdJc

El Hakim’s big slick caught the flop to give him a double after the Qh turn and 7d river. He began the day with only 54,000 but is now among the big stacks.

Hassan El Hakim – 332,000 (66 bb)
Brent Pasquarella – 345,000 (69 bb)

Event 7: Brent Pasquarella Knocks One Out

$570 No Limit Hold’em (Re-Entry)

Level 16: 2,500/5,000 with a 4,000 ante
Players Remaining: 36 of 279

Brent Pasquarella

Action folded around to Brent Pasquarella in the small blind and he raised to 15,000. The big blind player moved all in for 51,500 and Pasquarella quickly called.

Pasquarella: KsKc
Opponent: AhQc

Pasquarella caught a monster in the small blind and sent his opponent out after the 4h3c2d4c3h run out. The knockout sent the field down to its last four tables and put Pasquarella near the top of the counts.

Brent Pasquarella – 447,000 (89 bb)

Event 7: Dani Mae Doubles Early

$570 No Limit Hold’em (Re-Entry)
$100,000 Guaranteed | Structure | Payouts
Level 15: 2,000/4,000 with a 4,000 ante
Players Remaining: 42 of 279

Dani Mae

Brian Trieflagg opened to 12,000 from under the gun, Allauddin Khan called in the cutoff, and Wayne Daley called on the button. Dani Mae moved all in from the small blind for 63,000 and the big blind folded.

Trieglaff moved all in over the top to get folds from Khan and Daley.

“You have it?” Trieglaff asked.

“Yep,” was Mae’s response.

Mae: AhKs
Trieglaff: AdTd

Mae was ahead for her needed double and had no problems with the JdJh8h6d9d board.

“That’s payback,” Mae joke/needled Trieglaff. The two of them sparred several times late yesterday to drop Mae from a huge lead to short stack.

Dani Mae – 158,000 (40 bb)
Brian Trieglaff – 120,000 (30 bb)

Event 7 is the last big warmup before the WPTDeepStacks Tampa Main Event kicks off tomorrow and Day 2 is here. It had a $570 buy-in and the 279 cleared the $100,000 guarantee to put $139,500in the prize pool.

There are 44 players still in contention at the restart but only 28 of them will get paid later today.
