The 2019 WPTDeepStacks Tampa series began with the opening flight of Event 1 but we awarded the first guitar trophy in Event 2. The $360 Limit Omaha 8 tournament drew 36 entries and Tampa regular Mario De La Puente earned the title for $4,000 after a heads-up deal was struck.

Event 2 is part of a nice string of non-hold’em games running during the series and it was a nice turnout for the midweek, mid-June tournament. The created a prize pool worth $10,800. The last four spots paid and it took nearly nine hours to make the money.

The win added to De La Puente’s career stats that has him over $100,000 in career earnings with his biggest cash coming a few weeks ago. He finished second out of 1,647 entries in the $200 May Little Slick series tournament for more than $35,000.

The Event 2 players will take a 30-minute dinner break when Level 11 comes to an end and that will conclude our updates for the Limit Omaha 8. It was a fun start to the one-day events and will we post the complete results first thing in the morning.

Registration closes on the first one-day event of the tournament and the Limit Omaha/8 game drew 36 entries to create a prize pool worth $10,800. The last four spots will be paid with a min-cash worth $1,404 while the winner will take home $4,752 along with the WPTDeepStacks Tampa guitar trophy.

Level 8 has come to an end in the Limit Omaha 8 tournament and players are taking another break. There are 35 entries in so far and registration will close when they return.

The WPTDeepStacks Tampa series kicked off with Event 1 this morning but that tournament will not award the first guitar trophy of the series. That honor will go to the winner of Event 2 later this evening.

The first one-day trophy event starts at 2pm in the Poker Room and it is a $360 buy-in Limit Omaha 8 tournament. Tampa loves its Omaha games.

They’ll sit down to 12,000 starting stacks and all levels will run 30 minutes. Late registration and unlimited re-entries are available until the start of Level 9 around 6:30pm with a 30-minute dinner break scheduled after Level 11.

Cards will go in the air at the top of the hour and we’ll keep one eye on them as they progress through their day.
