The 2019 WPTDeepStacks Tampa series began with the opening flight of Event 1 but we awarded the first guitar trophy in Event 2. The $360 Limit Omaha 8 tournament drew 36 entries and Tampa regular Mario De La Puente earned the title for $4,000 after a heads-up deal was struck.

Event 2 is part of a nice string of non-hold’em games running during the series and it was a nice turnout for the midweek, mid-June tournament. The created a prize pool worth $10,800. The last four spots paid and it took nearly nine hours to make the money.

The win added to De La Puente’s career stats that has him over $100,000 in career earnings with his biggest cash coming a few weeks ago. He finished second out of 1,647 entries in the $200 May Little Slick series tournament for more than $35,000.
