Forrest Raleigh

Forrest Raleigh was already leading the field at the last break of the day. He returned to a stack worth 186,000 and began Level 12 with another boost.

On the first hand back, he opened the action from the cutoff and the button moved all in for 26,500. It was an easy call for Raleigh with AcAh and his opponent’s JdJc was no big deal.

Flight E Players Remaining: 36 of 116

The Flight E field is working its way lower and the stacks are getting deeper. There are 36 players remaining and we expect to get down to two tables before they bag up in a couple of hours.

Still plenty of time to catch Scott Caraccioli and his 343,500 at the top of the overall counts.

Mario De La Puente

Flight E players are back in their seats after the first break with 91 entries so far. Registration will remain open until the start of Level 9 and players can fire as many times as they wish during that time.

Mario De La Puente had to exercise one of those options early, busting on the first hand of the day, but he’s cruising now. The Event 2 champion is up to 62,100 and leading the field.

Mark Wiser

The entry count is up to 88 and the prize pool is nearing $150,000 on its way to $250K. The bigger field means we’re seeing a snowballing with re-entries and we should hit triple digits after the first break.

Mark Wiser is back in the Poker Room after a jaunt across the county to Las Vegas for the first weekend of WSOP action.  He has plenty of success her including  a Six-Max win during the Tampa Poker Classic in February.

Wayne Daley

Unlike the first two days of opening flights, when we were still toiling in the weekdays, the entry count took a deliberate march higher while registration was open. It’s a bit different today and the number is clicking up at a nice, steady pace as we near 70 in the first hour.

This will turn out to be the biggest flight so far with two monsters yet to go.

Wayne Daley is among the early crew looking for another WPTDeepStacks Tampa cash. He made two trips to the payout cage last year including a deep run in the Main Event.

Event 1 Flight E: Heading Into the Weekend

$360 No Limit Hold’em (Re-Entry)
$250,000 Guaranteed | Structure
Level 1: 100/100

We are at the midpoint of Event 1 and the opening tournament on the WPTDeepStacks Tampa schedule is ready to ramp it up. The first four flights of the tournament drew 383 entries and that was before the weekend got here. Now it’s time to run that number up.

The $360 buy-in tournament should hit its $250,000 guaranteed prize pool tomorrow afternoon and we will set the table today.

Entrants start with 20,000 deep starting stacks and the tournament has 30-minute levels throughout. Late registration and unlimited re-entries are available until the start of Level 9 around 3:25 pm and their day will end after Level 14. Anyone with chips will bag them up and return on Sunday along with the other 55 who advanced.

Cards go in the air at 11 am and we will track them all the way down.
