Ryan Anderkin

It was about two months ago when Ryan Anderkin ran deep in the Winter Poker Open Main Event. He graced the final table before bowing out in ninth place for $19,023. Back to the present, he’s in another $1,650 here in the Tampa Poker Classic and recently chipped up a little bit in a raised, three-way pot.

He bet 500 on a KdTc7s board. He got one caller and they checked the 9h turn. The river fell the Jd and it went check-check again. Anderkin turned over Js7c for two pair and took the small pot.

We’ll keep an eye on Anderkin as he looks to maneuver his way to Day 2.

Alex Ivan

Alex Ivan was under the gun and popped it to 300. Tara Schwartz was on his direct left and called. It folded back around to the big blind and he called as well putting it three-handed to the flop.

Flop: Js8d5c – The big blind checked. Ivan C-bet 600. Schwartz  called while the big blind folded. It was heads up to the turn.

Turn: Js8d5c4d – Ivan changed gears, checking the action to Schwartz. She bet 1,200 and Ivan called.

River: Js8d5c4d4s – Ivan lead for 2,000. Schwartz paused for a moment before calling.

Ivan: AdJd for jacks-up with an ace
Schwartz: QcJs for jacks-up with a queen

Ivan took the pot and notched his stack above starting.

Ivan is a regular in the Seminole Hard Rock Tampa poker room. He owns two wins at the property along with more than $200,000 in reported tournament earnings.

Level 1: 100/100

The Saturday play has arrived in the Seminole Hard Rock Tampa Poker Classic and it marks the last of the starting flights in the series’ Main Event. This is players’ final chance to get in the $1,650 buy-in, $300,000 guaranteed game and we’re prepping for what will most certainly be a strong weekend turnout.

Play begins at 11am and all Day 1C players will take their seats to 30,000 starting chips. Levels on Day 1 are 40 minutes and they’ll log 15 of them before action wraps around 10:45pm. Registration and re-entry are open through the dinner break ending about 6:30pm and the final prize pool figures will be posted at that time.

Here’s a look at the schedule of play:

11AM: Day 1C – $1,650 Tampa Poker Classic Main Event

Action has come to an end for the second of three flights in the Tampa Poker Classic Main Event. Another 17 players booked their seats in Day 2 on Sunday with Jeffrey Trudeau Jr bagging biggest today.

He put away 453,000 to sit second overall to John O’Neal by only 2K. Bryan Lewis advanced with 363,000 and he’s joined by Hunter Cichy, Justin Zaki, and Vitor Coelho.

Complete chip counts will be posted tomorrow morning.

Bryan Lewis

Flight B has reached the last level of the evening and we have a brand new chip leader. Jeffrey Trudeau Jr continues to wield a big stack but Bryan Lewis pushed his stack up to 375,000 in the last few hours to take the lead.

They will continue in Level 15 until ten minutes remain, then each table will play a set number of hands before survivors bag up for Sunday.

Main Event Day 1B: Jose Reyes Eliminated by Sterling Savill

Level 14: 1,500/2,500 with a 2,500 ante

Jose Reyes

The carnage continues and Jose Reyes was the most recent of those sent out. With the flop reading QdTs6s, Reyes three-bet shoved for ~66,000 and Sterling Savill quickly called.

Reyes: Qs3h
Savill: AsQh

Reyes’ flopped top pair was severely outkicked, he was sent out after the 8s turn and 4s river, and Savill is up near 200,000.

Main Event Day 1B: Three Tables Remain; Jeffrey Trudeau Continues to Lead

It did not take long after the break before Flight B reached three tables this evening. They still have more than two levels left in the evening so we expect another table to break before they bag up.

Jeffrey Trudeau Jr is still the top stack in the room and picking up chips with little resistance at this point.
