They are back underway in Event 1 and we have a new player to chase. Nick Avena began a run by knocking out Vitor Coelho earlier and now he’s the big stack in the room with 1,972,000.

Mackenzie Ramsay sits in second with 1,292,000 followed by Paul Lenkeit with 1,138,000 and Yong Liu right on 1,000,000. Maroun Akik is also sticking around the top of the counts with 975,000.

After a crazy two hours that included scores of knockouts and a quick power blip, the 37 remaining players are taking another 15-minute break from the tables.

We will round up our big stacks and see who’s pushing for a final table appearance.

When they return, they will play three more levels and then take a 40-minute dinner break.

Yong Liu continued to push his way higher and now sits with 1,100,000 as the first over seven digits. Maroun Akik is still among the leaders but Paul Lenkeit is the big mover with 900,000 as they head towards the second break.

Carlos Loving

Now that things have calmed a bit in Event 1 with them solidly grinding the last five tables, we were able to catch up on some information and find an accounting for the first half of the payouts.

Among those making the money but falling short were Carlos Loving (pictured), Doyle Scott Elliott, Steve Trizis, Mark “Bud” Wiser, and starting Day 2 chip leader Erik Morian.

Event 1: Vitor Coelho Eliminated by Nicholas Avena

$570 No Limit Hold’em (Re-Entry)
$200,000 Guaranteed | Structure | Payouts
Level 19: 6,000/12,000 with a 2,000 ante
Players Remaining: 48 of 797

Vitor Coelho

With the flop reading Ad9c7c, former SHR Tampa champ Vitor Coelho moved all in for 165,000. Nicholas Avena called and Coelho had a sweat.

Coelho: AhJd
Avena: Ac4c

Coelho was ahead for the double with top pair/decent kicker but needed to face clubs or a four. The Ks turn was safe but the 4h river sent the pot to Avena. Coelho was sent out in 49th place as Avena moved up to 550,000.

Event 1: Yong Liu Moving Up

$570 No Limit Hold’em (Re-Entry)

Level 19: 6,000/12,000 with a 2,000 ante
Players Remaining: 50 of 797

Yong Liu

With the parade of players to the payout desk, we were bound to see more players heading to the top of the counts. We are down to five tables and there are a lot of chips on Table 13.

Mackenzie Ramsay looks like the new leader with right at 800,000 but now that table also has to deal with Yong Liu and his 785,000 stack.

Event 1: Cashing a Bag

$570 No Limit Hold’em (Re-Entry)

Level 18: 5,000/10,000 with a 1,000 ante
Players Remaining: 58 of 797

Femi Fashakin

We lost another dozen players in the first 15 minutes back from break and one bag that will make some money. Femi Fashakin bagged 151,000 but was not feeling well today. He will make some money after his stack is blinded off.

We hope Femi feels better soon and we will have his payout slip here when he’s ready to pick it up.

Event 1: Maroun Akiki and Mackenzie Ramsay Leads After Break

$570 No Limit Hold’em (Re-Entry)
$200,000 Guaranteed | Structure | Payouts
Level 18: 5,000/10,000 with a 1,000 ante
Players Remaining: 70 of 797

Maroun Akiki

The only thing that could slow them down in Event 1 was a break. And they got their first one after the feeding frenzy post-money bubble. They made it down to 70 players remaining in the time left in Level 18 and they had a chance to catch their breath.

Two big stacks emerged over the beginning part of the day and they are lapping the rest of the field so far. Maroun Akiki leads them all with 745,000 with Mackenzie Ramsay not far behind with 724,000.

All players are back in their seats and ready to grind closer to the final table.

Event 1: Double Bubble Bust

$570 No Limit Hold’em (Re-Entry)

Level 17: 4,000/8,000 with a 1,000 ante
Players Remaining: 99 of 797

Even with the field three from the money, it only took five hands to get there. Two players were sent out on the first hand to put them on the stone cold bubble and three hands later we had four all-ins spread throughout the room.

Mark Katz doubled through Mark “Bud” Wiser with the board already reading JdTc4h6d7c. Katz was good with 9d8s for the straight versus second pair AhTh for Wiser.

The second hand was a straight up chop with AhKc splitting the AdKs.

Mario De La Puente was all in on table 17 and two other players came along trying to knock him out. The board ran out Js9c9d6c3d and the two live players checked it down. De La Puente tabled AhTh to beat one KcQc but the other side of the table saw his opponent flip over AsKs to out kick the aces up.

At the same time in the front of the room, Jaya Malapati also went out and the stacks were counted down. De La Puente’s all in stack was bigger and he was awarded 100th place money and Malapati was our bubble.
