Maroun Akiki

Action folded to Maround Akiki in the small blind and he moved all in for 420,000. Oscar Lindo called in the big blind with the bigger stack.

Lindo: Kd9d
Akiki: QdJc

Lindo was ahead for the knockout and he improved on the 9s4s2h flop. The Ac turn and 9h river did not change the hand and Akiki was eliminated on the final table bubble.

Event 1: Douglas Erwin Eliminated by Andrew Pacifico

$570 No Limit Hold’em (Re-Entry)
$200,000 Guaranteed | Structure | Payouts
Level 24: 20,000/40,000 with a 5,000 ante
Players Remaining: 14 of 797

Douglas Erwin

Douglas Erwin opened to 125,000 from the button and Andrew Pacifico put him all in from the big blind after a minute’s thought. Erwin called at risk for approximately 600,000 more and was ahead.

Erwin: Ad9c
Pacifico: KsJh

Erwin needed to dodge the big face cards and the Qs8s4h flop was safe. The 3d turn was no problem either but the spiked Kh river was bad news to send Erwin out in 15th place.

Andrew Pacifico – 3,300,000
Douglas Erwin – Eliminated in 15th place ($4,630)

Event 1: Gerald Dunn Eliminated by Ahmad Hamoush

Players Remaining: 15 of 797

Gerald Dunn

A short-stacked Ahmad Hamoush opened-shoved from early position and it folded around to Gerald Dunn in the small blind. He called all in with the shorter stack and was the player at risk.

Hamoush: AsKs
Dunn: Tc9c

Dunn had two live cards and hit the flop but so did Hamoush as it came AdTh8s. The 3s turn and 3c river were no help and Dunn was out in 16th place.

Ahmad Hamoush – 625,000
Gerald Dunn – Eliminated in 16th place ($3,835)

While the rest of the players went on dinner break, Mackenzie Ramsay and Andrew Pacifico played one more huge pot. Ramsay called a three-bet then shoved with his pocket eights and Pacifico sent him packing with pocket kings.

Level 23: 15,000/30,000 with a 4,000 ante
Players Remaining: 17 of 797

Leif Oskarsson

Leif Oskarsson was the short stack after sending a double up to Parm Mehmi and then he lost a sizable pot to leave him in need of a double himself. He moved all in for 126,000 and Charles Kapetanakos called.

Charles Kapetanakos: QdQs
Oskarsson: Kd8d

“Well, I have an over,” Oskarsson half-joked. “Good game guys.”

The Tc9d2c5s7d board could not keep him around and he was sent out in 19th place.

Tournament staff broke Table 13 and get the field down to two tables.

While that was going on, Timothy Steorts was eliminated in 18th place and the remaining players took off on a 40-minute dinner break.

Level 23: 15,000/30,000 with a 4,000 ante

There was a lot of tension on Table 2 as a huge pot was built. Nick Luczyk open-shoved for 221,000 and Curtis Stroman called with around 40,000 behind. Andrew Pacifico took his time in the small blind and eventually put out a full barrel of 25K chips for a 500,000 bet. Jean Brigagao folded his big blind and Stroman called for the three-way all in.

Stroman: AsQh
Pacifico: AhQd
Luczyk: AdQs

The tension was instantly relieved and the 9h3d2c flop met they would all chop it up.

Bill McKown was riding the short stack and took a shot after two others dropped after the redraw. He was racing with KsQs against the pocket tens of Charles Kapetanakos (pictured) but never whiffed a save on the As3c2d8h4s board to exit in 24th place for $2,671.
