Tournament staff stopped the clock and announced Flight C players would log three more hands before action concludes. Out in front of Flight C and challenging the overall chip lead is Chris Boyle. Boyle appears to claim about 275,000 chips late in the day and is in great position bag healthy heading to tomorrow’s Day 2.

Joining him near the top of the Flight C counts is Michael Cohen who just got over 75,000 in preflop against AJ “Doc” Santos. Santos had the last of his stack at risk holding versus the of Cohen. The aces held and Cohen scooped a monster late in the day.

The 6pm flight in the WPTDeepStacks $350 is freshly underway and the $100,000 guarantee is officially a thing of the past. With 36 entries at shuffle up and deal, the combined field is at 367 putting the prize pool at better than $110,000.

Flight C players are back in their seats following the final break of the night. They’re set to log two more levels — one hour — of play before bagging and tagging. Defending WPTDeepStacks-Tampa Player of the Series Karl Manouchakian and Bruce Snell are among those still in.

Others still in include Steve Trizis, Jennifer Arojado, Nick Costarelis, Joey Alegria and Michael Turton.

AJ “Doc” Santos opened to 3,600 from late position and Nick Costarelis called from the cutoff. It was on Joey Alegria on the button and he three-bet to 4,600. Both players called and they saw an flop. It checked to Alegria who C-bet 8,500 and he took it down without contest.

For a cash player, Alegria has been leaving his mark on Tampa tournaments this week. He made Day 2 of the $570 opener, but busted shy of the money. From there, he final tabled the $250 turbo before finishing seventh. He’s gone deep in a couple of the $350 flights, but ultimately finished shy of a bag.

He has a stack of just over 60,000 late in Level 12 of Flight C and needs to hang on for two more levels in order to make his second Day 2 of the series.

Michael Turton was a bit reluctant to agree to the six-way ICM chop in Event 1, but ultimately took the deal. With a stack of 1,860,000, he earned $34,869 — better than third place money. Turton went down as the fourth-place finish and headed to today’s Flight C looking for another final table run.

Midway through Level 11, Turton sits on a sack of about 70,000 — just above the 52,500-chip average.

With registration now closed, the field is rapidly dwindling but it appears Jennifer Arojado is here to stay. She returned from break with about 100,000 and it appears she leads the way going into the most critical stages of Flight C. Arojado cashed in the $570 just two days ago and hopes to improve on that 32nd-place finish.

The break expired moments ago and registration is closed in Flight C with a final field of 129. That brings the complete field to 331 entries generating a prize pool of $99,300. With tonight’s Flight D still to come, the $100,000 is all but bested.

Level 8 marks the last level of open registration. At its concludes, players will go on their second 15-minute break of the day. When cards go back in the air, registration closes and the Flight C will be final. As of now, the clock shows 125 entries bringing the three-flight total to 327. That’s just seven shy of hitting the event’s $100,000 guarantee.
