With a pile of chips already in the middle, chip leader Farid Jattin and Seminole Hard Rock Poker team member Mike Laake were heads up on a board. Jattin was in the small blind and checked to Laake who took a few moments to map out his next move. He re-checked his hole cards and reluctantly checked back.
Jattin turned over for a set of sevens and Laake’s cards went into the muck. Neither player had a heart, and Jattin’s set was best.

The board laid and Tom Nguyen lead for 85,000 into Austin Buchanan on the button. Buchanan called and it was time for the river.
The board completed with the and Nguyen lead for an all-in bet of 172,000. Buchanan didn’t need much time to find a call and threw in a few chips putting Nguyen at risk.

On the first hand back from break, Tim Shortell opened the button for a raise to 30,000. Next up was 2015 Winter Poker Open Main Event champion John-Christian Templeton in the small blind. He jammed for about 240,000. John Racener was in the big and promptly four-bet shoved sliding a stack of blue 25,000 chips in. Shortell called off 305,000 total and the hands were put face up.
