Flight D players are back in their seats after the first break and the count continues to climb towards the next milestone. They are within shouting distance of pushing the $50,000 guaranteed prize pool over $60,000 with two hours left to register.

Greg Osborne is trying for his second big run of the series and he’s practically freerolling the rest of the way. He made the final table in the 721-entry opening event and was part of the nine-way deal that had him cashing out for more than $12,000. Osborne is still looking for his first career tournament victory with several close calls. He has two runner-up finishes and a fourth place cash in this tournament last year for $7,750.

$150 Big Stack NL Hold’em (Re-Entry)
Level 3: 75/150 with a 25 ante
Flight D Entries: 89

John Holley
John Holley

Five-time WSOP Circuit winner John Holley came a long way to make the Event 4 field, driving straight through from North Carolina to Tampa in time to make Flight D.

Holley is having one heck of a run over the last few months. Since September, he has notched 12 tournament final tables and three wins including a Coco Poker Open title and his fifth WSOP Circuit ring.

Event 4 Flight D: AroJado Sends Beatty Out

$150 Big Stack NL Hold’em (Re-Entry)
Level 2: 50/100
Flight D Entries: 83

Cheri Beatty (left) versus Jennifer Arojado (right)

The entrant count continues to click north at a nice pace and it looks like we might hit triple digits before the first break. Cheri Beatty will have to be a new one after running into a second level cooler.

She moved all-in for ~7,000 and Jennifer Arojado shipped in next to act. The rest of the table released and Beatty saw her pocket tens were up against pocket kings. She found no reprieve on the board to send her out early and push Arojado near 25,000.

Arojado already has success this series, she was part of a heads up deal in the Event 3 turbo that saw her take home $4,749.

Event 4 Flight C: Five More Hands, No Clear Leader

$150 Big Stack NL Hold’em (Re-Entry)
Level 14: 1,200/2,400 with a 400 ante
Flight C Players Remaining: 21 of 132

The clock is paused with 10 minutes remaining in Level 14 and tournament staff just announced Flight C will play 10 more hands before completion. With the chips currently spread out among 21 players, there’s no clear leader as of now and a handful of individuals are likely to jump toward the top by the time bagging comes.

Here’s a look at some of them:

Kirsten Olieberg
Kirsten Olieberg

The last level of the day is underway with the clock showing 23 players remaining. A handful of big stacks are emerging, and while Kirsten Olieberg isn’t one of them, she’s looking to make a splash in the $150 in a different way.

Olieberg won the Ladies Event just a few days ago pocketing a guitar trophy and $1,920. She’s in good shape to make Day 2 and potentially make a run toward another WPO title.

Event 4 Flight D: Last Chance Flight

$150 Big Stack NL Hold’em (Re-Entry)
Level 1: 25/50

The 309,100 chips of Femi Fashakin

Three flights are locked down leaving one more chance for players to get a piece of the Event 4 prize pool. The $150 buy-in tournament attracted 355 entries so far and they should top the $50,000 guaranteed prize pool early this evening.

Players sit down to 15,000 starting stacks and play 30-minute levels throughout the night. Late registration and unlimited re-entries are available until the start of Level 9 at 10:30pm and Event 4 will close its doors. They’ll play through 14 levels and survivors will bag up their chips for a return tomorrow at noon for Day 2.

After a few tournament instructions, cards are in the air and we are underway.
