Before they could finish the process of breaking Table 3, there were two big hands going down. Thomas Jackson was knocked out in 18th on Table 2 while Eric Wilkinson and Ron West were tangling on Table 3.

Wilkinson and West were heads up to the Ac8s5c flop and both checked. Wilkinson bet out 75,000 after the 4h turn and West called to see the Jc river.

Wilkinson moved all-in and West quickly called with Aces up As8h and was good against Wilkinson King-high KxQx to send him out in 18th for $5,368.

Corey Thompson (Winter Park, FL)
Corey Thompson (Winter Park, FL)

Corey Thompson opened to 35,000 and Jonathan Lagace-Bastien three-bet to 105,000. Thompson responded with a shove for his last 400,000 and Lagace-Bastien called with QsQd.

Thompson needed a lot of help with his JxJx but the dealer did him no favors as the board ran out KcTs7sQh2h. He was knocked out in 19th place for $4,213 and Table 3 is breaking up.

Championship: Michael Ferrer Eliminated 20th ($4,213)

$1,650 Winter Poker Open Championship
Level 22: 8,000/16,000/2,000 Ante

Michael Ferrer (Toronto, ON)

It was three-ways to the Qh9s6s flop and Michael Ferrer moved all-in with his short stack. David Lappano was the only one to call and he had a good lead with AcAh against Ferrer’s Ad6d.

The board completed 7s turn and Ts river to send Ferrer out and set up another mini-bubble for the last two tables.

Michael Ferrer – Eliminated in 20th place ($4,213)
David Lappano – 1,250,000

Championship: Jon Graham Eliminated 21st ($4,213)

$1,650 Winter Poker Open Championship
Level 21: 6,000/12,000/2,000 Ante

Jon Graham (Longwood, FL)
Jon Graham (Longwood, FL)

Jon Graham got the last of his stack in holding As8d against the TsTd of John-Christian Templeton. The flop made it quick when it fell KsTh5d improving Templeton to a set. The turn 3h and river 7h didn’t change a thing and Graham busted 21st earning $4,213.

Templeton’s stack totaled 900,000 after the hand.

Championship: Siddiqui Doubles, Bunkley Eliminated 22nd ($4,213)

$1,650 Winter Poker Open Championship
Level 21: 6,000/12,000/2,000 Ante

Sheddy double

Seminole Hard Rock Poker Ambassador Sheddy Siddiqui is one of the tournament’s big stacks following a collision between his KcKh and Antuan Bunkley’s QcQd.

An early-position player opened and Sheddy three-bet. It folded to Bunkley in the small blind and he jammed. The remaining players in the hand folded and Siddiqui called. He was the at-risk player.

Siddiqui: KcKh
Bunkley: QcQd

The runout came no sweat — Js9s9d8s7s. Siddiqui’s stack was counted down to 501,000 leaving Bunkley as one of the shortest stacks in the tournament. He would bust 22nd at the hands of T.K. Miles a few hands later when his Ah9c was bested by Miles’ QdQc.

Siddiqui, meanwhile, sits with about 1,030,000 chips.

Championship: Steve Karp Eliminated 24th, Cory Waaland 23rd

$1,650 Winter Poker Open Championship
Level 21: 6,000/12,000/2,000 Ante

Steve Karp and Cory Waaland are the two most recent eliminations from the finale. The action that lead to Karp’s 24th-place demise is unknown, but we did get a recap of Waaland’s 23rd-place finish.

Corey Thompson opened under the gun for 32,000 and it folded to Waaland on the button. He jammed for 370,000. The blinds folded and Thompson called putting Waaland at risk.

Waaland: AxQx
Thompson: KxJx

The flop brought a king and the river brought a jack improving Thompson to two pair and busting Waaland.

Waaland and Karp earned matching payouts of $4,213.
