Raminder Singh

Raminder Singh claimed his second WPT Trophy of the series tonight as the champion of Event 13. Singh topped multiple opponents that are also in the Player of the Series race in his last two opponents (Aaron Thivyanathan – 3rd place and Daniel Couzens – 2nd Place) to grab the top prize worth $22,475.

Here is what he had to say after winning his second event of the tournament series: “It feels great, I’m actually on a business and family and poker trip so it’s good to play late registration and come in and the tournament structures are awesome, so you can come in late after work and play some poker. It’s fantastic and it feels great. Absolutely, I like to play well, and I call myself a true poker amateur, so from that angle I have to play well against these great players that are here from all over that travel here.”

“I talked to my wife, she is a happy camper, and in she is a very supportive wife and she is OK with me staying over, so perhaps I won’t be going back (to Delray Beach) because it’s a pretty long drive, four hours each way and that takes a toll on me, on your sleep and all, so perhaps I’m still 50/50 on that, but I’m more inclined to play some more tournaments and late reg in Level 7 or 8,” said Singh when he was asked about his plans to play in the rest of the tournament series.

Singh also wanted to add something about a fun family competition that he has with his kids. “My daughter and son, we have a trophy competition going on. My daughter is into ice skating, and my son is into swimming so they have their own collection of trophies, and when I win a trophy to take home they are motivated to win more,” said Singh.
